Location: Genève/ Rue du Rhône 31
Are you an avid Business & Risk Manager who wants to make an impact? In our role you act as the operational and control backbone for the region. You bridge front-office teams with Zurich central functions (Finance, HR, Risk, Compliance, Legal) by translating regional strategy into budgets, staffing plans, and rigorous first-line controls.
The role splits roughly 40% business management, 40% first-line risk and control, and 20% regulatory readiness.
What would your role be?
- Business Management & Planning (40%)
- Financial Oversight: Build and track regional budgets (revenue, cost, headcount) with monthly variance analysis.
- Resource Strategy: Develop forecasting models, resource plans, and headcount proposals with HR.
- Management Reporting: Produce regional KPI scorecards (revenue, net new money, cost/income ratio, pipeline capacity).
- Strategic Execution: Implement group-wide cost initiatives, process changes, and system rollouts locally.
- First-Line Risk & Control (40%)
- Control Framework: Own, run, and document the regional first-line control framework.
- AML & KYC Oversight: Monitor onboarding files, KYC/EDD quality, and periodic reviews; escalate compliance gaps early.
- Incident Management: Track operational errors, incidents, and client complaints; lead root-cause analysis and remediation.
- Audit Coordination: Coordinate internal/external audits and drive audit findings through full closure.
- RCSA & KRIs: Maintain the regional Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) and report Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) to leadership.
- Regulatory Readiness (20%)
- Regulatory Implementation: Support the rollout of regulatory strategies (e.g., CRD VI implementation).
- Compliance Standards: Oversee mandatory staff training and certifications.
- Inspections: Prepare and support the region for regulatory reviews and inspections.
- What are we looking for?
- 8–12 years in Swiss private banking or wealth management (COO office, business management, or 1st-line risk/control).
- Deep understanding of FINMA circulars, AMLA/AMLO, and cross-border rules.
- Proven financial budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and advanced Excel/PowerPoint capabilities.
- Track record of managing strategic group-level projects or system rollouts.
- Highly credible with senior front-office bankers, with the ability to constructively challenge when necessary.
- Highly rigorous, structured, discreet, and capable of working independently across multiple sites.
- Fluent in French and English; working knowledge of German is strongly preferred for Zurich collaboration.
- Experience with GCC/Middle East clients or the External Asset Manager (EAM) segment is a plus.
