The Senior Product Designer is responsible for driving discovery, workflow design, interaction design, and user experience strategy across key compliance capabilities. The role requires a blend of hands-on execution, product thinking, stakeholder influence, and continuous improvement. Beyond delivering high-quality experiences, you'll help modernize design practices through experimentation, collaboration, emerging technologies, and a commitment to raising the overall maturity of the organization.

You'll join a growing Design team that is actively shaping how design operates within one of Western Union's most complex and business-critical domains. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in ambiguity, enjoys creating structures where little exists, and wants to play a meaningful role in building a modern product design practice. Partnering closely with Product, Design, and Engineering, you'll help define not only what we build, but also how we work, contributing to the growth and maturity of our design practice while delivering meaningful user experiences.

With startup-style ownership and enterprise-scale impact, this role offers the opportunity to make a lasting contribution to both our products and our design organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end product design efforts, from discovery and workflow definition through final design delivery across compliance and risk management platforms.
  • Partner closely with Product, Engineering, and stakeholders to solve complex user, operational, and business challenges.
  • Champion the voice of the user through research, workflow analysis, usability testing, and continuous validation of design decisions.
  • Create intuitive workflows, high-fidelity designs, and interactive prototypes that drive clarity, alignment, and delivery.
  • Apply systems thinking to design solutions that span multiple products, workflows, and user roles.
  • Take ownership of design challenges, proactively identifying opportunities, driving alignment, and helping teams move from ambiguity to execution.
  • Facilitate design reviews, workshops, and stakeholder discussions while clearly communicating design rationale, trade-offs, and recommendations.
  • Partner closely with the Design Lead and team to scale design capabilities, strengthen design quality, and advance the maturity of our design practice.
  • Embrace modern design tools, AI-assisted workflows, and emerging technologies to improve efficiency, quality, and collaboration.

Basic Requirements

5+ years of experience in Product Design, UX/UI Design, or related disciplines, with a proven track record leading end-to-end product design initiatives from discovery through delivery.

Experience designing complex enterprise software, SaaS platforms, or workflow-driven applications, with strong skills in interaction design, prototyping, and user-centered design methodologies.
