Cytek Biosciences Healthcare/BioTech

Intern

Fremont, CA In person Internship

Cytek® Biosciences is a leading cell analysis solutions company advancing scientific discovery through innovative technologies. Using its Full Spectrum Profiling™ (FSP®) technology, Cytek develops advanced flow cytometry instruments, reagents, software, and services that help researchers gain deeper biological insights. Headquartered in Fremont, California, Cytek serves customers around the world, including pharmaceutical companies, biotechnology organizations, and academic research institutions.

At Cytek, we are committed to innovation, collaboration, and enabling scientific progress. We are looking for a technically minded AI Automation Intern to help improve how our teams use data, streamline business processes, and explore practical applications of artificial intelligence and automation.

We're looking for a technically minded intern to help the data analytics team streamline the data used to design and develop Power BI and other dashboards. The role will eventually assist with the design and build an AI-powered tool that automates key parts of our Sales Operations data flow. You'll work closely with sales operations, finance, and IT stakeholders to understand how forecasting, CRM/ERP data reconciliation, and pipeline reporting currently work — then help build and test automation (scripts, LLM-based tools, dashboards) that reduces manual effort and improves data accuracy and speed.

This is a mixed research-and-build role: you'll start by exploring feasibility and mapping workflows, then move into prototyping a working tool.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform essential duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Map and document current workflows used for forecast reconciliation, Salesforce pipeline reviews, and CRM/ERP data pulls to identify automation opportunities.
  • Research and evaluate feasible approaches (scripting, AI/LLM tools, RPA) for automating each workflow, including trade-offs and data/security constraints.
  • Build data pipelines that extract, clean, and merge data from Salesforce, SAP/ERP, and forecasting platforms (e.g., IBP) into unified, analysis-ready datasets.
  • Prototype AI-assisted tools (e.g., LLM-powered anomaly detection, natural-language query interfaces, auto-generated pipeline summaries) that support forecast accuracy and data hygiene checks.
  • Automate recurring reports — attainment dashboards, pipeline health metrics, data reconciliation checks — that are currently built manually.
  • Develop scripts (Python/SQL) to flag data inconsistencies, duplicate records, or pricing/product configuration errors across systems.
  • Build a lightweight internal tool (dashboard, bot, or simple web app) that gives the sales team self-serve access to pipeline and forecast data.
  • Test and validate automation outputs against analyst-produced reports to confirm accuracy before rollout.
  • Document your findings and tools so the sales ops team can maintain and extend the work after the internship.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Analytics, or a related field.
  • Comfortable with Python and SQL for data extraction, cleaning, and automation.
  • Familiarity with (or strong interest in learning) Salesforce and ERP systems (SAP a plus) and their reporting/API structures.
  • Some exposure to LLM/AI tooling (e.g., building with APIs like OpenAI/Anthropic, prompt engineering, or AI-assisted coding tools) — personal projects count.
  • Strong Excel skills and general comfort working with messy, real-world data.
  • Interest in sales operations, forecasting, or business analytics — no prior industry experience required, but curiosity about how sales data drives business decisions is a must.
  • Good communicator — able to translate analyst workflows into technical requirements and explain tools back to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Self-directed and comfortable with ambiguity; this role involves figuring out how to automate a workflow, not just following a spec.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with dashboarding tools (Tableau, Power BI, or similar).
  • Prior coursework or projects involving data pipelines, ETL, or workflow automation.
  • Interest in life sciences, instrumentation, or B2B sales environments.

INTERNSHIP DETAILS

  • Type: Year-long internship, full-time, paid (hourly)
  • Location: On-site, Fremont, CA
  • Length: 9-12 months

WHAT YOU'LL GAIN

Direct exposure to how enterprise sales forecasting and CRM/ERP data actually work.

Experience building real automation/AI tools for a business team, not just a class project.

Mentorship from sales operations and IT stakeholders on both the business and technical sides.
