The QA Tester will perform hands-on testing, maintain reusable test documentation, coordinate sprint and release testing, and communicate quality risks and results. This position works closely with product owners, business analysts, developers, UX specialists, DevSecOps personnel, and other stakeholders to strengthen application quality and improve testing practices.

- Develop and execute functional, integration, end-to-end, regression, smoke, exploratory, accessibility, and performance tests, as appropriate.
- Maintain a reusable test library and application-specific testing playbooks covering test scenarios, expected results, critical workflows, and regression requirements.
- Perform impact-based regression analysis to identify workflows, integrations, components, and existing capabilities that require retesting after changes.
- Maintain traceability among requirements, user stories, test cases, execution results, and defects.
- Document, track, and retest defects, including clear reproduction steps, supporting evidence, severity, and expected and actual results.
- Support user acceptance testing, performance testing, Section 508 accessibility testing, and other specialized testing activities as required.
- Identify opportunities to automate repetitive and regression tests and collaborate with development and DevSecOps personnel to implement improvements.
- Communicate testing progress, coverage gaps, outstanding defects, quality risks, and release readiness to project and product leadership.
- Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to improve testing processes and application quality.
Skills and Qualifications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to learn complex applications and business processes and translate workflows into repeatable test scenarios.
- Working knowledge of functional, integration, end-to-end, regression, exploratory, user acceptance, accessibility, and performance testing techniques.
- Ability to organize, schedule, and coordinate work, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing requirements and technologies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain test results, defects, risks, and recommendations to technical and nontechnical audiences.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, demonstrate initiative, and support a small team in a leadership capacity.
- Ability to work flexible hours as required.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems, systems engineering, computer science, or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of three years of experience in software quality assurance, software testing, test analysis, or a related discipline.
- Experience developing, maintaining, and executing test plans, test cases, regression suites, and test scenarios for moderately complex to complex web-based applications.
- Experience analyzing requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, business processes, and application changes to determine test scope, coverage, dependencies, and regression impacts.
- Experience working within Agile or Scrum teams and coordinating testing across sprint features, releases, enhancements, and production fixes.
- Demonstrated leadership in one or more testing specializations: test event management, automated testing, performance testing, or Section 508 testing. Section 508 experience includes use of industry-recognized tools and techniques.
