This role in summary

Whirlpool of India Limited is looking for a Deputy Manager / Analyst – Sourcing to strengthen its

electronics commodity sourcing team, with a specific focus on Tier-2 (child part / sub-component)

supplier strategy for Electronics Assemblies for Whirlpool Applications. This role owns T2 sourcing

strategy, commercial negotiation, and end-of-lifecycle (EOL) management for the electronic

components that go into PCBAs, HMIs, and lighting modules — working closely with EMS/Tier-1

partners, design engineering, and quality teams across India, China, Vietnam, and Poland.

Your responsibilities will include

Own T2 supplier strategy for Tier-2 electronic components: ICs, connectors, transformers, resistors,

capacitors, sensors, LEDs, switches, IGBTs, relays, microprocessors, microcontrollers, diodes, transistors.

  • Lead commercial negotiation with T2 suppliers on pricing, contracts, and terms, including annual price

negotiations and cost-down agreements.

  • Manage end-of-lifecycle (EOL) for components — tracking obsolescence notices, qualifying

alternate/second-source parts, and driving last-time-buy and transition planning with design engineering.

  • Negotiate and manage long-term agreements (LTAs) and material allocation agreements with T2 suppliers

to secure supply and pricing stability during periods of constraint.

  • Review, negotiate, and manage NCNR (Non-Cancellable Non-Returnable) documentation and exposure,

balancing supply assurance against inventory and liability risk.

  • Build and execute commodity strategy for child-part categories, including should-cost modeling and target

costing for BOM-level components.

  • Drive cost reduction and value engineering initiatives in partnership with EMS/Tier-1 suppliers and design

engineering.

  • Support dual-sourcing and China+1 de-risking strategy for critical/scarce components (e.g.

semiconductors, IGBTs, connectors).

  • Track component-level market intelligence: allocation, lead times, pricing trends, and obsolescence risk.
  • Coordinate with EMS partners on BOM cost breakdowns, alternate part qualification, and second-source

approvals.

  • Monitor supplier quality and delivery performance for sub-components (DPPM, AQL, IPC compliance) in

coordination with quality teams.

  • Drive business continuity planning (BCP) for critical components — identifying single-source

risks, qualifying backup suppliers, and maintaining contingency stock/capacity plans.

  • Manage supply chain planning for T2 components — demand-supply matching, lead-time and

buffer stock planning, and escalation of allocation/shortage issues with suppliers and internal

stakeholders.

  • Support new product introduction (NPI) by ensuring timely component sourcing, costing, and supplier

readiness.

  • Maintain and improve component cost databases, price benchmarks, and supplier scorecards.

Minimum requirements

6–9 years of experience in electronics component (T2) sourcing, having handled major global

manufacturers for ICs, connectors, microprocessors, sensors, LEDs, and transformers.

  • Demonstrated experience in T2 supplier strategy, commercial negotiation, and end-of-lifecycle (EOL)

management for electronic components.

  • Prior experience in consumer electronics, appliances, automotive Tier-1/Tier-2, or EMS sourcing

environments.

  • Working knowledge of BOM cost breakdown, should-cost modeling, and component-level commercial

negotiation.

  • Familiarity with semiconductor/electronic component market dynamics (allocation, lead time volatility,

PLI/BCD considerations for India manufacturing).

  • Exposure to quality frameworks relevant to electronic components (IPC standards, AQL, DPPM) is an

advantage.

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field; MBA in

Operations/Supply Chain preferred but not mandatory.

  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and cross-functional coordination skills; comfortable working with global

suppliers across India, China, Vietnam, and Poland.
