MorphoAI Technology/Software

Member of Technical Staff (Product/ platform engineering)

London, United Kingdom In person Full-time

MorphoAI is a venture-backed deep-tech startup building hardware foundation models for mechanical engineering. Our GPU-accelerated design models that let engineers generate and explore hundreds of complete mechanical assembly designs in minutes, accelerating the invention of new hardware. Our models learns from a company’s prior CAD designs and generates editable assemblies from engineering requirements, incorporating standard and custom components and manufacturing constraints. This enables companies to design and ship the next generation of their hardware faster and better than competition.

We are a 12 person team based between NYC and London, and raised ~$6.3M for our first round. Half our round was through ARIA in the UK (Advanced Research and Invention Agency) to enable the design of dextrous robotic hardware. We work with some of the largest OEMs in the world, including names like ABB, across hardware in power grid, electrical equipment, data centers, consumer and home electronics, industrial manufacturing, and automation and robotics.

Our founding team is built of a prof. of ECE and robotics at Carnegie Mellon, Forbes u30 serial hardware entrepreneur, and a Harvard PhD/ ex. Amazon Robotics scientist and have written 65+ papers between them on algorithms for hardware design. The team at large PhDs from Imperial, TU Wein, UCL and has worked across computational geometry, computer vision, ML, optimization, simulation, and the CAD space.

About the Role

Morpho is hiring an AI Product Engineer to build the intelligent interface between engineers and Morpho’s design systems.

The role spans frontend development, agent and tool orchestration, frontier model adaptation and evaluation, and integration with CAD, geometry, and backend systems. Core problems include translating natural-language and multimodal inputs into structured engineering specifications and building the experiences through which users describe, generate, inspect, and refine designs.

The AI Product Engineer will need to understand model behavior enough to evaluate, adapt, and improve the underlying system while building reliable, intuitive product experiences around it.

What We Need

  • Strong product-engineering fundamentals and experience building polished, user-facing applications.
  • Understanding of LLM behavior beyond prompting and basic API integration.
  • Ability to translate ambiguous user intent into structured, executable workflows.
  • Experience designing agentic systems that interact reliably with tools and backend services.
  • Strong judgment around model selection, evaluation, failure analysis, and when adaptation or fine-tuning is necessary.
  • Clear product and technical judgment when designing new forms of human–AI interaction.

Useful Experience

  • React, TypeScript, Python, and modern application architecture.
  • Structured generation, tool use, RAG, model adaptation, or fine-tuning.
  • Multimodal systems involving text, images, drawings, or other technical inputs.
  • Evaluation frameworks, observability, and testing for nondeterministic AI systems.
  • CAD, geometry, engineering software, or other complex technical interfaces.
  • Building human-in-the-loop workflows for reviewing, correcting, or refining model outputs.
