Founding Product Manager

New York City, NY In person Full-time

Founding Product Manager at Sava

The problem

More than $6.5 trillion sits in trusts, and the industry that administers it still runs on PDFs, email, spreadsheets, and manual checklists.

Setting up a trust is confusing. Funding it is painful. Administering it takes constant coordination among attorneys, advisors, accountants, custodians, beneficiaries, and trustees. Clients rarely know what is happening, and the professionals around them spend their days moving information between systems that don't talk to each other.

What we're building

  • Sava is a Nevada-chartered trust company we wish existed. We pair experienced fiduciaries with an AI-native platform that reads trust documents, coordinates the work, monitors obligations, and gives families and their advisors a clear view of what's happening.
  • We are backed by Y Combinator, Gradient Ventures, SV Angel and some of the best investors with a $10 million seed round. We are actively onboarding new clients now. You would be our first Product Manager.
  • The founders
  • Nimit Maru, CEO. A repeat YC founder who has built and sold two companies. He co-founded and led Fullstack Academy, one of the country's leading coding education businesses, and co-founded Bloomspot, which JPMorgan Chase acquired.
  • Rush Sadiwala, COO. A repeat founder and former investor who has built technology businesses across commerce, media, and AI.
  • Why this is an unusual product job
  • The product is the institution. We are the trustee, with legal responsibility for assets that may stay in trust for generations. What you ship is how a regulated financial institution operates day to day.
  • AI with real stakes. Our software reads legal documents and acts on them, and a mistake is a fiduciary problem. You will decide where automation runs, where a trust officer signs off, and how every decision leaves an audit trail.
  • Three audiences at once. Families usually reach us through their estate attorneys and wealth advisors. The product has to earn the confidence of all three, plus the trust officers who work in it all day.
  • A blank page. There is no product org above you and no roadmap handed down. You will build Sava's product function from scratch.

The role

You will spend most of your week with clients, trust officers, attorneys, wealth advisors, and engineers, turning exception-heavy fiduciary processes into software that feels simple and fast.

You will own product from discovery through launch and adoption, across the full life of a trust: onboarding, trust acceptance, document intelligence, funding, advisor collaboration, ongoing administration, and monitoring. We have more good ideas than engineering capacity, so much of the job is deciding what waits.

You will work directly with both founders, our founding engineers, and our Head of Trusts.

Your first 90 days

  • Sit in on every client onboarding and shadow our trust team until you deeply understand how a signed document goes to a funded account on Sava
  • Take over the roadmap and make the tradeoffs explicit to the team
  • Regularly talk to our customers and stakeholders to understand what the roadmap is missing and what needs to be cut
  • Ship improvements to the path from signed trust to funded account, where clients and their attorneys feel the most friction
  • Set the few numbers we run the product on, starting with time to fund and cost to administer a trust

Who you are

  • 3 to 8 years in product, with at least one complex product taken from zero to launch
  • You are looking for a founding role with direct influence over product and company strategy, and daily access to customers, founders, and decision-makers.
  • Technical enough to work through data models, APIs, integrations, permissions, and AI system behavior with engineers
  • Already using AI and prototyping tools to make ideas concrete, with something you built that you can show us
  • At ease moving between a client call, an operations problem, and an engineering tradeoff in the same afternoon
  • A clear writer and a clear speaker
  • In New York City, working in person with the team
  • Experience in fintech, wealth management, banking, insurance, legal technology, document intelligence, or workflow automation helps. We will consider strong candidates without it.
  • This is probably the wrong role if

You avoid customer conversations

You need a large team or an established process before you can ship

You treat operations as someone else's problem
