Material Estimator

• Position: Material Estimator
• Report To: Full Time Position Supervisor Supply Chain Manager
• The Material Estimator will review material needs for quote opportunities. This position is responsible for obtaining competitive price quotations for various projects and creating a complete
• costed bill of materials, which will establish the standard material cost used in a formal price quotation.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Utilize quoting software to obtain and review vendor pricing information.
• Understand the project requirements
• Determine key variables of cost and other estimates as it relates to component information such as price, availability, lead time, life cycle status, excess material and minimum order quantities.
• Obtain and review quotes from suppliers
• Perform risk analysis
• Select winning bids and complete material estimates, thereby establishing standards
• Communicate issues and special condition of pricing
• Build working relationships with key suppliers
• Work with Engineering and Buyers to drive accuracy and competitiveness
• High school degree
• Good organization, communication skills
• Proficiency in Excel and math skill
• Attention to detail and multitasking
