Zillow Real Estate

Principal Product Manager, Product Development Platforms

Remote Full-time

Location: Remote-USA

About the team

The People & Enterprise Product & Engineering team owns the platforms that help Zillow employees do their best work, from AI platforms and everyday employee tools to the tools used to build Zillow’s products. We treat internal tools as critical products. Working closely with the Product Accelerator team, we are rethinking Zillow’s product development lifecycle for an AI-native way of working.

About the role

Help shape how Zillow builds products. As Principal Product Manager, Product Development Platforms, you will own the strategy, roadmap, and delivery of AI-first platforms that support product planning, delivery, and knowledge sharing. You will partner with the Product Accelerator team to determine how these platforms work together, where Zillow should invest, and which tools to retire. This is a new, evolving role for a product leader who can turn ambitious ideas into practical solutions, prioritize the most important problems, and own the platforms that bring a new way of working to life.

You Will Get To

Set the vision and strategy for Zillow’s product development platforms and builder tools, translating that direction into near-term priorities and identifying core platforms, temporary solutions, and tools to retire.

Develop clear business cases and recommendations to build, buy, renew, migrate, or retire platforms.

Represent platform and tooling needs in product development lifecycle transformation discussions, bringing a clear perspective on how Product, Engineering, and Design teams can work together.

Own the strategy, roadmap, and execution for the current portfolio, including Replit, Atlassian, and Airtable. Evolve the portfolio as tools are introduced or retired, and partner with Engineering and technical program managers to deliver features and platform improvements.

Define the product and engineering support model for each core platform and align the teams responsible for supporting it.

Manage vendor relationships, influence vendor roadmaps, provide budget input, and identify opportunities to apply vendor capabilities at Zillow.

Define adoption and value metrics, share results with leadership, and recommend changes based on what you learn.

Develop documentation, training, and self-service support that help adoption scale without a corresponding increase in support requests.

Mentor product managers and cross-functional partners, and demonstrate AI-native product practices in your own work.
