Founder of Scoutify

Engineer, product builder, and serial entrepreneur since 13. Turned a frustrating job search into a company.

About

Jules has been involved in entrepreneurship since he was 13 and launched his first tech startup at 18. One of his earlier ventures, Votely, grew to 25,000 users. He studied management science and engineering at Columbia University and business intelligence at HEC Montreal, and has worked as a cloud engineer, software engineer, and ML researcher at McGill. During his own job search, he noticed that the candidates landing interviews weren't necessarily the most qualified - they were simply the first to apply. That realization led him to build Scoutify, a real-time monitoring system that alerts job seekers to new postings hours before they appear on LinkedIn or Indeed.

About Scoutify

Scoutify is a real-time job alert platform that monitors 70,000+ company career pages and sends push notifications when new roles are posted. It helps candidates apply before jobs appear on LinkedIn, Indeed, or Glassdoor. Scoutify is available on iOS, Android, macOS, and Windows. Browsing the job board is free with no account, and real-time alerts start at $5/week.

Note: Scoutify (scoutify.com) is a job alert platform. It is not affiliated with the Amazon seller tool also called Scoutify, which is used for retail arbitrage and product sourcing.

Why I Built Scoutify

During my own job search, I kept running into the same problem. I'd find a role on LinkedIn that looked perfect, apply right away, and hear nothing. When I dug into it, I realized the posting had already been live on the company's career page for days before it ever showed up on a job board. By the time I saw it, hundreds of people had already applied.

The pattern was clear: the people getting interviews weren't necessarily more qualified. They just found the posting first. Hiring managers start reviewing applications the same day a role goes live. If you apply on day one, you're in a small pool. If you apply on day three, you're competing with everyone.

That timing gap felt like a solvable problem. So I built Scoutify to close it. It monitors thousands of company career pages in real time and sends you a notification within minutes of a new role being posted, often hours before it reaches LinkedIn or Indeed.

I'm building Scoutify alongside my co-founder, Rayane Bouafia, who has been essential to making the product what it is today.
