success. We are committed to fostering an environment where you can grow, make

a meaningful impact, and thrive.

Education: You should be educated to a minimum HNC/HND or degree level in Electrical, Electronic, Control and Instrumentation Engineering, or a comparable discipline, supported by relevant industrial experience.

PLC and Control Systems: Hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley PLC systems, ideally including the ability to carry out small control-system modifications and basic troubleshooting, fault finding, configuration and support of industrial control applications.

Electrical and Instrument Design: Experience producing and reviewing electrical and instrumentation designs, specifications, calculations, drawings, datasheets, cable schedules, loop diagrams and commissioning documentation.

Design Software: Competence in Amtech electrical design software for cable sizing, voltage-drop, fault-level and protection studies is highly desirable.

Commissioning: Experience planning and carrying out inspection, testing, loop checking, functional testing, commissioning and handover of EC&I installations.

Teamwork and Communication: A collaborative and supportive team player who communicates clearly, shares technical knowledge and works effectively with engineering, operations, maintenance, project teams and external partners to deliver safe and practical solutions.

Problem Solving: Skilled in structured problem-solving techniques such as Root Cause Analysis and failure analysis.

Technical Knowledge: A sound working

knowledge of relevant UK electrical, instrumentation, hazardous-area and

functional-safety standards and legislation, including BS 7671, BS EN IEC

60079, DSEAR and applicable site engineering standards.

What You’ll Be Doing

Be part of a team that values diversity, sustainability and continuous innovation, where your ideas and contributions matter.

Teamwork: Contribute positively to the EC&I and wider engineering team, support colleagues, share learning and provide constructive challenge where required to achieve safe, compliant and reliable outcomes.

Plant Integrity: Work as an active member of the wider site engineering team, collaborating closely with operations, maintenance and project personnel to maintain and improve the integrity, reliability, availability and operability of electrical, control and instrumentation assets.

Technical Support: Provide EC&I technical support for plant issues, breakdowns and recurring defects, and develop robust engineering solutions rather than short-term maintenance fixes.

Hazardous Areas: Support ATEX/DSEAR compliance, hazardous-area equipment selection, installation standards, inspection findings and remedial work.

PLC and Instrumentation: Support Allen-Bradley PLC-based control systems and associated field instrumentation, including basic troubleshooting and the development, testing and implementation of small, controlled control-system modifications in accordance with site Management of Change and engineering standards.

Electrical Design: Produce and review electrical designs using Amtech and other appropriate engineering tools, ensuring designs are safe, compliant, coordinated and suitable for installation.

Management of Change: Participate in MOC activities and contribute EC&I input to risk assessments, HAZOP, LOPA and other reviews for proposed plant modifications.

Project Delivery: Manage small EC&I projects from concept through design, procurement, installation, commissioning and handover, and provide EC&I oversight to major capital projects during FEED and detailed design.

Commissioning: Develop and execute inspection, test and commissioning plans, verify documentation and ensure completed installations are handed over with appropriate records.

Standards: Assist in the development and application of site-wide EC&I engineering standards, procedures and work instructions.
