Your Impact

The AR Accounting Specialist is responsible for compiling and maintaining accounts receivable records and for the sale of goods and services performed by the organization. This role is also responsible for applying the appropriate sales tax rates to invoices and maintaining the company’s sales tax records. This role serves as an auditor, ensuring invoices are accurate and proper accounting procedures are followed.

A Glimpse of What You’ll Do

Create and process Accounts Receivable invoices

Review all remittances from customers and process payments to appropriate accounts

Answer Accounts Receivable inquiries pertaining to customer invoices

Perform customer account reconciliations and maintain accounting spreadsheets for tracking purposes

Maintain updated files for accounts receivable and follow up with past due accounts

Apply appropriate sales tax rates to invoices

File the company’s monthly sales and use tax returns.

Resolve tax notices received from state and local tax authorities

Research and apply tax regulations to billing processes

Validate and reconcile tax records in Avatax

Assist with monthly closing

Perform other duties and/or special projects as requested

Able to serve as backup for Accounts Payable

Bachelors’s degree preferred

Minimum of three years’ experience in Accounts Receivable

Great Plains and Avatax experience a plus

Full-time position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Travel is primarily local during the business day, little to no travel is expected for this position

Occasionally required to lift or move up to 25 pounds
