Project Role Description : Enables full stack solutions through multi-disciplinary team planning and ecosystem integration to accelerate delivery and drive quality across the application lifecycle. Performs continuous testing for security, API, and regression suite. Creates automation strategy, automated scripts and supports data and environment configuration. Participates in code reviews, monitors, and reports defects to support continuous improvement activities for the end-to-end testing process.

Role Summary

We are seeking a hands-on Engineering Manager who leads from the trenches — writing production-grade code daily while simultaneously driving team delivery and technical strategy. This is not a purely supervisory role. You will be an active contributor to Java Spring Boot backend services, React frontends, and API development, while managing a team of engineers and owning end-to-end delivery. The ideal candidate is a strong individual contributor who has grown into leadership without stepping away from the keyboard.

Key Responsibilities

Hands-On Technical Contribution

• Independently design, develop, and ship full stack features using Java Spring Boot (backend) and React (frontend) with minimal direction.
• Architect and build RESTful APIs and microservices from scratch, owning the full lifecycle from design through deployment.
• Write complex Oracle SQL queries, manage schema design, performance tuning, and indexing strategies directly.
• Personally contribute to CI/CD pipeline setup, containerization, and OpenShift deployment — not just review others' work.
• Debug, optimize, and refactor production code to meet performance and scalability standards.
• Actively use and champion AI development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) as a daily part of your own engineering workflow.

Technical Leadership

• Set architectural direction and make independent technical decisions on system design, API contracts, and data modeling.
• Conduct meaningful code reviews rooted in your own current coding experience, not just managerial instinct.
• Define and enforce engineering standards, security practices, and documentation expectations across the team.
• Evaluate and introduce new tools, frameworks, or patterns based on direct hands-on assessment.

Team Management & Delivery

• Lead a team of engineers through agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and delivery milestones while remaining a committed coder yourself.
• Mentor and grow junior and mid-level engineers through pair programming, code walkthroughs, and real-time technical coaching.
• Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions — and then build them yourself.
• Manage delivery risk, technical debt, and cross-team dependencies without delegating your own engineering accountability.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.
• Currently active and proficient in Java Full Stack Development — you write Spring Boot and React code regularly, not just in the past.
• Deep expertise in RESTful API design, microservices architecture, and enterprise integration patterns.
• Strong Oracle Database and SQL skills — query writing, performance tuning, indexing, and data modeling done independently.
• Direct experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, and containerized deployments.
• Comfortable working independently in ambiguous environments with minimal oversight.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent (15 years full-time education preferred).

Preferred Qualifications

• OpenShift or Kubernetes hands-on deployment experience.
• Experience with API security (OAuth2, JWT) and cloud-native design patterns.
• Prior experience as a senior individual contributor who transitioned into a working management role.
• 15 years full time education
