We are seeking an HRIS Sr. Professional to serve as the first line of HRIS support for Workday. This role focuses on day-to-day user enablement, request triage and resolution, routine system maintenance, data quality, documentation, reporting, and testing. The position resolves routine issues independently and partners with Tier 2/3 HRIS and technical resources when a request requires deeper product expertise, complex configuration, integrations, security changes, or broader impact analysis.

Job Responsibilities

Serve as Tier 1 HRIS support for Workday, helping HR users and other authorized users understand how to complete transactions, locate information, and use available self-service resources.

Triage and manage assigned Workday support requests through Jira; gather relevant details, troubleshoot issues, document work and resolution, communicate status, and route requests to the appropriate owner when escalation is required.

Investigate routine Workday issues by reviewing user steps, data, business process status, security/access context, and available documentation; resolve issues within established scope and escalate complex or higher-risk issues to Tier 2/3 resources.

Create, modify, and maintain simple Workday reports and support users in locating existing reports and dashboards. Escalate advanced reporting, calculated-field, matrix/composite, or broader analytics needs as appropriate.

Perform approved low-risk/simple Workday configuration and maintenance activities in accordance with HRIS change control, testing, approval, documentation, and production-validation standards.

Maintain HRIS job aids, knowledge articles, FAQs, and other user-enablement content; keep materials current as Workday processes and functionality change and partner with functional stakeholders for business-process nuances.

Perform routine data-quality audits, exception reviews, reconciliations, and follow-up activities; document findings, correct or coordinate correction of issues within scope, and escalate recurring or higher-risk data concerns.

Assist Tier 2/3 HRIS team members with functional testing, regression testing, test-script execution, defect documentation, and validation of enhancements and configuration changes.

Participate in Workday semi-annual release readiness activities, including assigned feature review, regression testing, issue documentation, and production validation.

Support ongoing HRIS operational work such as documentation clean-up, process follow-up, recurring administrative activities, and stabilization efforts that improve the reliability and user experience of Workday.

Follow established HRIS governance, change-control, data-protection, documentation, and escalation standards and maintain accurate work records in Jira.

Partner collaboratively with HR functional stakeholders, Payroll, Business Applications, and other HRIS team members to resolve requests and provide a consistent support experience.

Identify recurring user questions, defects, data issues, or process pain points and surface opportunities for improved job aids, training, self-service, controls, or system enhancements.

Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • 2-4+ years of HRIS, HR operations, HR technology, or related systems-support experience; hands-on Workday experience strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Workday navigation and business processes; exposure to one or more functional areas such as HCM, Recruiting, Benefits, Compensation, Absence, Talent/Performance, Learning, Help, or Reporting is preferred.
  • Experience troubleshooting user or system issues and knowing when to escalate based on complexity, risk, or required system access.
  • Experience creating or maintaining basic reports, user documentation, job aids, knowledge content, or training materials.
  • Comfort working with data, performing recurring audits or reconciliations, and identifying discrepancies with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience participating in system testing, documenting defects/results, and validating expected outcomes is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and common productivity tools; experience with Jira or another ticket/request management platform is preferred.
  • Ability to explain system steps and technical information clearly to users with different levels of Workday experience.
  • Strong organization, follow-through, customer-service orientation, curiosity, and practical problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage sensitive employee information with confidentiality and professionalism and follow established access and data-governance requirements.

Work as one.

Work together to create the best customer and workplace experience. Put our customers and employees first—before individual or departmental agendas. Make sure they get the help they need to succeed.
