Alchemi builds AI that helps drug development teams move faster, and we already work with some of the largest pharma companies and CROs in the world. THE ROLE We're a small, senior engineering team, and we plan to stay that way. Writing code is no longer the constraint. Judgement is. You'll own architecture and delivery across our core platform, and you'll be measured on the quality of the systems you design and the mistakes you prevent, not on lines of code.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR - Design judgement earned the hard way. You can explain why a design is wrong, not just that it feels wrong. - A track record of systems that stayed maintainable, not just shipped. - Fluency with agentic development: specs first, agents as a force multiplier, with a verification loop. - Range across backend, front-end and DevOps, with Python at the centre. - Low ego. You listen first and work toward consensus.

Based in New York City, with daily overlap across a team that spans Pacific Time to Western Europe.
