AWS CloudTrail records API and user activity across hundreds of AWS services, giving customers complete visibility into their cloud operations for security and compliance. As AI agents increasingly make decisions and invoke APIs at scale, the need to verify that every event is generated correctly, completely, and on time has never been more urgent. We are looking for a Software Development Manager to lead the verification and monitoring team within AWS CloudTrail.
You will own the platform that detects data loss, integrity issues, and coverage gaps before customers are impacted — across all delivery channels and 378+ integrated services. You will combine technical depth with people leadership to grow engineers, shape architecture, and drive end-to-end outcomes that give AWS service teams confidence to move fast without compromising event quality. Key job responsibilities - Own the technical roadmap for the verification and monitoring platform, defining strategy that ensures every event is delivered correctly and completely across all integrated AWS services. - Lead and grow a team of engineers and technical leaders by recruiting top talent, providing coaching and actionable feedback, and building programs to develop and retain high performers. - Establish AI-assisted development workflows — including AI-powered code generation, automated code reviews, and intelligent test creation — to multiply your team's engineering output while maintaining quality. - Drive cross-team engagement with AWS service teams and internal stakeholders using agile practices and strong program management to align priorities, manage dependencies, and report findings that shape organizational decisions. - Build and maintain automated monitoring systems that proactively detect data loss, integrity failures, and coverage gaps, ensuring issues are caught and remediated before they reach customers.

Later, you review your team's prioritized project list, adjust sequencing based on new findings, and close the day by drafting a status update for leadership on recent impact metrics.
