Do you get excited about using the latest tools and technologies to deliver high-quality software? Are you eager to learn and adapt as the DevOps landscape evolves? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join Amazon as a DevOps Apprentice, where you'll help shape how we build and deliver software. As a DevOps Apprentice, you'll bridge the gap between software development and IT operations - automating processes and helping ensure the seamless delivery of software to users around the world.

The work you do will help shape experiences for millions of customers. Throughout your apprenticeship you'll grow the technical skills and problem-solving mindset to build and maintain reliable systems, learning to automate, test, and improve the way software is delivered. You'll develop these skills working alongside experienced engineers across development and operations. We move fast, fail fast, and fix faster, so you'll be encouraged to bring your ideas, test them, and learn as you go.

A day in the life can involve: - Collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure - Developing and implementing CI/CD pipelines for rapid and safe software deployment - Scripting and coding in multiple languages to orchestrate infrastructure and ensure robust testing - Implementing security best practices throughout the software development lifecycle - Monitoring and optimising system performance - Contributing to a culture of continuous improvement We welcome individuals from all backgrounds who are eager to learn new technologies and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.

You'll bring an analytical mindset to solve complex problems, identify root causes, and develop innovative solutions, along with the strategic thinking to anticipate challenges before they arise. Strong collaboration and communication skills matter too, as you'll be working closely with developers, IT operations, and stakeholders to convey complex information clearly. Here at Amazon, it's in our nature to learn and be curious.

Within this apprenticeship you'll put newfound knowledge into practice every day, supported by first-class coaching, tailored development, and rewarding work that will empower you to reach new heights and build the future you envision. You'll gain a vast range of experiences and skills while working towards the Level 4 DevOps Engineer Apprenticeship standard. As a working student, your focus is to complete your studies in your 20% off-the-job time, developing the skills, knowledge, and behaviours to work towards successful graduation.

You'll be set objectives and goals by your training provider and manager to support your studies. You'll build your skills over a 24-month period, starting in September. Your apprenticeship will combine classroom/virtual-based training to cover knowledge, on-the-job training at your Amazon base location, and mentoring from our experienced team members.
