Better Decisions Begin with You
At Aon, we shape decisions for the better to protect and enrich the lives of people around the world. As an organisation, we are united through trust as one inclusive, diverse team, and we are passionate about helping our colleagues and clients succeed.
Launch Your Career in Commercial Risk Consulting
Join Aon as a Commercial Risk Consulting graduate and, from day one, you’ll be an integral part of either our Strategic Engagement (Inpoint) or Aon M&A and Transaction Solutions (AMATS) team. You’ll help clients navigate complex business challenges, handle risk and make better-informed decisions.
Strategic Engagement (Inpoint)
Inpoint is Aon’s carrier engagement and management business, working primarily with insurers across Commercial Risk. Our teams use market insight, portfolio analytics and Aon’s broader capabilities to build stronger, more strategic relationships with carrier partners.
Strategic Engagement is focused on helping Aon and its carrier partners identify shared priorities, understand portfolio performance and turn insight into meaningful action. This is not a traditional strategy consulting role. It is a relationship-led, data-informed opportunity at the centre of Aon’s engagement with the insurance market.
As a Strategic Engagement Graduate, you will work with colleagues across Strategy & Technology Group (STG), the Global Broking Centre (GBC) and Commercial Risk UK. You will help prepare insight for senior conversations with insurers, support engagement on portfolio opportunities and contribute to initiatives that strengthen how Aon and its carrier partners work together.
The role offers exposure to senior leaders across Aon and the insurance market. It also provides the chance to build a strong understanding of commercial insurance, carrier priorities, broking, and portfolio dynamics.
What You Will Do
Analyse market, carrier and portfolio information to identify trends and opportunities, turning data and analytics into practical insights for carrier and internal partners discussions
Support strategic relationship planning and engagement for key insurers, helping teams establish clear priorities, actions and follow-through while deepening your knowledge of customer relationship management
Collaborate across Inpoint, GBC and Commercial Risk UK to understand carrier objectives, capture insight and coordinate engagement with the market, building your project management and consulting skills over time
Contribute to strategic carrier meetings and senior collaborator discussions and learn how strong commercial relationships are developed throughout Aon and the insurance sector
Prepare clear, high-quality materials and presentations for strategic meetings and portfolio reviews, using focused research and document review to communicate complex information concisely
Aon M&A and Transaction Solutions (AMATS)
Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) and other event-driven situations can be complex, time-critical and highly specialised. The AMATS team typically assists clients in three core areas, prior to, during and/or after completion of an M&A deal or other investment opportunity, by:
Providing due diligence on an ‘target’ business across a wide range of deal-critical areas, including risk & insurance, cyber & digital, human capital and climate maters. This diligence evaluates the target’s risk exposures - past, current, and future - which may impact transaction value for the buyer
Arranging insurance solutions aimed at de-risking transaction liabilities and enhancing investor returns, often removing deal-breaking risks. This involves structuring and placing solutions like warranty & indemnity insurance and using insurance capital to mitigate contingent risks, such as tax and litigation
Delivering portfolio value creation programmes for financial sponsors, including private equity, infrastructure funds, and real estate investors. Use their portfolio scale and insights from analysis. Coordinate efforts to reduce the total cost of risk and improve governance
The clients include financial sponsors and Corporates, with transaction sizes ranging from small UK domestic deals (such as Voyage Care’s acquisition of Orchard Healthcare) to some of the largest cross-border transactions (such as KONE’s $34.4 billion combination with TK Elevators). Further deal examples can be found on Aon’s LinkedIn page.
You’ll gain exposure to several parts of our transaction advisory and broking business to help build your understanding of why clients implement M&A deals and how Aon supports their business and investment objectives.
What You Will Do
Support transaction advisory work for private equity, infrastructure, real estate and corporate clients, helping the team research and analyse risks connected with M&A deals
Support the arrangement of M&A insurance solutions by helping colleagues prepare information for the insurance market and learning how transaction risks can be transferred
Coordinate Aon expertise across practices and geographies while developing your internal network and learning to handle actions and workstreams across a fast-moving transaction process
Help identify relevant Aon products, services and solutions that may support client deal and investment objectives, applying commercial judgement and broader business context
Build strong collaborative connections with clients, insurers, M&A advisers and internal collaborators, while developing your consulting and business communication skills over time

This will enable you access to support from managers, collaborate with colleagues as well as grow your network across Aon. Aon UK Graduate Recruitment: What to Expect
We know applying for your first graduate role can be exciting, and sometimes a little daunting. At Aon, we’re committed to making our recruitment process as transparent and supportive as possible. Here’s how our selection journey works, and what you can expect at each stage:
Application Review
- We process applications on a rolling basis, moving candidates forward as they complete each stage.
- Every application is carefully reviewed by our team (not by AI).
- Due to the high volume of interest, this stage can take up to two weeks.
- Please note: We do not review CVs or cover letters at this point.
Online Assessment
We understand you want to put your best foot forward, so you’ll have 5 calendar days to complete the online assessment.
If you need more time, just let us know as extensions are available.
Video Interview
- Preparation matters, so you’ll have up to 10 days (240 hours) from receiving your invitation to record and submit your video interview.
- Rest assured: Every video interview is reviewed by a real member of our recruitment team, not an AI system.
- You’ll typically hear back from us within 2-3 weeks after submitting your interview, though times may vary depending on the number of applications.
Assessment Centres
Our assessment centres are held in person at the Aon office closest to the location you applied for.
Please note: Due to the large number of applications, not every candidate who completes a video interview will be invited to an assessment centre.
Assessment centres usually run after Christmas, from mid-January.
If selected, you’ll have 7-14 days’ notice to help you arrange any travel.
We run a limited number of Assessment Centre so please make every effort to attend if invited.
We reimburse reasonable travel costs (such as standard class train tickets). Flights and hotels are only covered if agreed in advance.
At the assessment centre stage, your CV and cover letter will be shared with hiring managers. This helps them get a fuller picture of you as a candidate—but these documents are not used for initial screening.
What is Aon's guidance of the use of AI during the selection process?
As an innovative global leader, we recognize and embrace the power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to help job seekers be more efficient in their recruitment processes. In fact, Aon is in the business of developing and implementing innovative AI tools that support both colleagues and clients, which you’ll use as an Aon colleague if you join our team.
AI can be a helpful tool for researching Aon, preparing for interviews or refining your CV, it should support, not replace, your own thinking, judgement, skills and experiences. Any application materials you submit should accurately reflect your achievements, capabilities and potential.
We ask that you refrain from using AI when completing assessments or during live or pre-recorded interview processes, which will often include an in-person interview where the technology will not be available to you. Additionally, virtual or in-person interviews should not be recorded or transcribed.
At Aon, we foster a culture of inclusiveness, fairness and transparency. We expect all candidates to embrace these principles in every interaction with us.
Can I apply for more than one programme or role?
We ask candidates to submit one Early Carers application per recruitment cycle. We encourage you to explore our opportunities carefully and apply for the programme or role that best matches your skills, interests and career goals. This helps you focus on submitting your strongest application and ensures we can assess candidates fairly and efficiently.
If, during the selection process, we believe another opportunity at Aon may be a better fit for your experience and aspirations, our recruitment team may discuss alternative options with you.
If you're unsure which programme is right for you, we recommend reviewing the programme information on our careers site or attending one of our events before applying.
Top Tip: Choose the role you're most excited about, rather than treating a second application as a back-up option. We want to understand where your genuine interests lie and how you see your future career developing.
We’re here to support you every step of the way. If you have any questions or need accommodations, just contact our team - [email protected]. Good luck, and we look forward to seeing what you can bring to Aon!
