This is hands-on development inside Eagle: customizing the latest version of Eagle PACE (now marketed by BNY as Eagle Data Management) so that it works for Aon, processes Aon's investment data, and exchanges data with the systems around it.
Eagle PACE experience is good to have but not mandatory. Strong senior .NET developers without Eagle experience are encouraged to apply and will be trained on Eagle PACE once they join. The role shares a common C#, .NET, SQL Server, and REST API foundation with the wider development team.
Key Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain Eagle data processing, to load, validate, transform, and enrich Aon's investment data using Eagle PACE tools like IWS, EDS, and panels.
- Build and support interfaces that move data into and out of Eagle PACE, including inbound feeds, outbound extracts, and connections to other Aon systems.
- Develop and maintain supporting applications, services, and tools using C# and .NET.
- Write and tune SQL for data processing, validation, and troubleshooting.
- Troubleshoot production issues in Eagle processing and interfaces, and drive defects to resolution.
- Provide application support and assist with incidents for the Investment applications you support.
- Work with business stakeholders and product owners to analyze requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Take part in Eagle Pace upgrades so that Aon's customizations keep working on the latest version.
- Participate in code reviews and follow team development standards.
- Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge transfer.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 9+ years of software development experience.
- Strong experience with C#, .NET Framework and/or .NET Core/.NET 8.
- Experience developing and consuming REST APIs.
- Strong SQL Server or Oracle experience, including complex queries, stored procedures, and relational database design.
- Experience building data processing and data interfaces, such as file-based feeds, extracts, or API integrations.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience source control tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on development experience with Eagle PACE / Eagle Data Management (good to have; training will be provided once joined), such as IWS, EDS, EagleML, Message Center, and custom rules and processing.
- Experience with other BNY Eagle products, such as Eagle Accounting (STAR) or Eagle Performance.
- Experience in investment management, asset management, wealth management, or financial services, including investment data such as securities, holdings, transactions, and pricing.
- Experience with Azure cloud services.
- Experience with automation, batch processing, and job scheduling.
- Experience working within Agile delivery teams.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot.
Success Factors
- Ability to learn Eagle Pace and Aon's investment data quickly, or to deepen existing Eagle expertise.
- Ownership of Eagle customizations and data processing from build through production support.
- Strong attention to data accuracy and commitment to operational excellence.
- Effective collaboration with business stakeholders and global technology teams, including sharing knowledge with fellow developers.
