Summary

The Senior QA Engineer will own quality assurance for applications and data across Aon's Investment Consulting technology portfolio. This is an experienced, hands-on testing role focused on thorough manual testing: functional, regression, and integration testing, plus SQL-based data validation. The Senior QA Engineer will work closely with Aon's Eagle developers to test Eagle Pace customizations, data processing, and interfaces, as well as other backend, batch, and integration systems.

Eagle Pace experience is a plus but not required; the successful candidate will be expected to learn Eagle and investment data on the job. We would also like to explore applying test automation to Eagle testing, so automation experience is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build and execute detailed test plans ,l test cases and test scripts for application enhancements, upgrades, defect fixes, and new functionality.
• Perform functional, regression, and integration testing across applications, batch processes, and system interfaces.
• Test Eagle Pace customizations, data processing, and interfaces in close partnership with Aon's Eagle developers.
• Validate data accuracy and completeness using SQL, including source-to-target checks and reconciliation of processed data.
• Test backend, batch, and integration processes, including inbound feeds, outbound extracts, and APIs.
• Work closely with developers and business analysts to understand requirements, design changes, and expected outcomes.
• Test toggle-based and configuration changes with flags on and off.
• Reproduce and help diagnose production issues, and contribute to incident analysis for the Investment applications we support.
• Create and maintain test plans, test cases, test data, and test evidence
• Support release validation, deployment activities, and post-release verification,coordinating with environment, release, and deployment teams to confirm environments are stable and ready
• Assist in production issue investigations and root cause analysis when required.
• Help explore opportunities to apply test automation to Eagle and data testing,and contribute to continuous improvement of QA practices, standards, and templates.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 6+ years of software quality assurance experience, working independently as a senior tester.
• Strong manual testing experience across functional, regression, and integration testing.
• Strong SQL skills for data validation and troubleshooting data issues.
• Experience testing backend, batch, data processing, or integration systems.
• Experience creating test plans ,testdataand test cases, and managing defects through resolution.
• Experience working closely with developers within a delivery team.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Eagle Pace (Eagle Data Management) or other BNY Eagle products.
• Experience with investment data such as securities, holdings, transactions, and pricing.
• Experience supporting financial services, wealth management, retirement, or investment-related applications.
• Test automation experience; we would like to explore applying automation to Eagle testing.
• Experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman).
• Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
• Experience using AI-assisted productivity and testing tools such as Claude, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot.
