- Arcus FM is seeking a talented Software Development Engineer to join our innovative team.
- In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain software applications that drive success for our business and clients.
- Although this role allows for primarily remote working, there is a requirement to attend the Redditch office at least once a month.
What You'll Be Doing
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including designers, product managers, and fellow developers to deliver scalable, high-quality software solutions
- Write, test, and deploy clean, efficient, and maintainable code across a range of applications
- Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems to improve performance and security
- Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation
- Drive innovation by proposing and implementing new technologies to enhance development processes and product performance
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand and translate technical and business requirements into actionable solutions
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Professional experience in software development engineering
- Strong problem-solving skills and an innovative mindset
- Proficiency in multiple programming languages and frameworks, including JavaScript (JS), React, NodeJS (ExpressJS), Python, SQL, and CSS
- Solid understanding of front-end and back-end development
- Experience with software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies
- Familiarity with database management systems (e.g., MySQL, SQL Server) and version control tools like Git
- Ability to optimize applications for speed, scalability, and reliability
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
Desirable
- Certifications in relevant technologies are a bonus
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines is a plus
