Your Role:
- Change Portfolio Management
- Maintain a single portfolio of proposed and active changes, including the reason, affected products and parts, customer impact, supply risk, technical risk, expected benefit, owner, timing, and approval status.
- Prioritize urgent obsolescence, supply-constraint, BCP, and capacity-related changes and lead periodic cross-functional reviews.
- Integrated Change Planning and Execution
- Develop and manage the integrated plan from impact assessment, design and risk review through verification, internal approval, customer notification and approval, inventory transition, and mass-production implementation.
- Track actions, dependencies, decisions, delays, and resource constraints and escalate when needed.
- Technical and Quality Risk Coordination
- Coordinate responsible engineers, Quality, Manufacturing, Procurement, PM, and Division experts to define change classification, affected scope, DRBFM/FMEA needs, validation items, acceptance criteria, and risk controls.
- Supplier Change, Obsolescence, and BCP Management
- Lead qualification and production readiness for replacement parts, second sources, supplier changes, manufacturing transfers, electronic component end-of-life, and other continuity actions.
- Ensure equivalence, specification differences, process capability, quality assurance, capacity, and transition risks are documented and resolved.
- Customer Change Notification and Approval
- Align the application strategy with customers and account teams and prepare change summaries, 5M+E information, specification comparisons, risk assessments, validation plans and results, and implementation timing.
- Where appropriate, lead early notification, controlled bundling of related changes, test-unit planning, technical reviews, and responses to customer questions.
- Production Transition and Implementation Control
- Coordinate Procurement, Materials, Production Control, Manufacturing, Quality, Logistics, PM, and Engineering to align inventory run-out, BOM, drawing and document revisions, effectivity dates, first-article confirmation, and FAIR requirements.
- Prevent unintended mixing of old and new configurations, premature implementation, and incorrect shipment.
- Governance, Decision Support, and Escalation
- Prepare complete information for internal governance such as the 4M Committee, clearly presenting unresolved risks, customer-approval status, cost, schedule, supply impact, and implementation options.
- Escalate potential supply interruption, significant quality risk, unapproved customer impact, schedule delay, and cross-functional conflict with clear choices and consequences.
- Standardization and Continuous Improvement
- Standardize change categories, required evidence, approval gates, trackers, KPIs, and lessons learned.
- Reduce aged open items, repeat submissions, and approval lead time through training, process support, and continuous improvement.
