Australian Retirement Trust Finance/FinTech

Senior Project Finance Partner

Brisbane, Australia Hybrid Full-time

We’re all about helping our members make the most of their money. And while they go after their goals, you can too. As a Senior Project Finance Partner, you’ll play an influential role in strengthening the financial management of projects and programs across Australian Retirement Trust.

Partnering with senior stakeholders, you’ll provide financial oversight, commercial advice and strategic insights that support sound investment decisions. You’ll help improve how project costs, forecasts and benefits are understood, tracked and reported, giving leaders the information they need to make confident and timely decisions.

This is an opportunity to combine your technical finance expertise with genuine business partnership. You’ll work across a diverse portfolio, bring clarity to complex information and contribute to stronger financial capability throughout the organisation. Your insights will support governance forums, inform business cases and help ensure investments deliver measurable and sustainable value for our members.

This role is available as a 12-month secondment opportunity and is based in Brisbane or Melbourne.

Day to day, you'll

  • Partner with leaders and project stakeholders to strengthen financial decision-making across strategic programs and projects.
  • Prepare and present project financial insights, forecasts and performance updates to Program Boards, steering committees and change forums.
  • Provide oversight of project expenditure, budgeting, forecasting and financial controls.
  • Consolidate, review and improve the tracking of financial and non-financial benefits at program and project level.
  • Lead the uplift of benefits-driver analysis, including facilitating workshops and developing practical, consistent supporting materials.
  • Influence project teams and leaders to support accurate and timely monthly forecasting across programs of work.
  • Develop financial models, scenario analysis, reporting and dashboards that turn complex information into actionable insights.
  • Support the preparation and review of business cases, investment proposals and benefits assessments.
  • Deliver timely financial and management reporting, including business metrics, trend analysis and performance insights.
  • Provide thought leadership and commercial advice to executives and senior stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to improve business performance, financial management and the delivery of strategic outcomes.
  • It goes without saying you'll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills. We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them. It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too:
  • You hold a professional accounting qualification such as CA ANZ, CPA Australia or an equivalent recognised qualification.
  • Your background includes substantial finance experience within financial services or another large, highly regulated environment.
  • You'll bring strong commercial acumen and experience contributing to clear, aligned strategic planning outcomes.
  • You're highly capable in advanced financial modelling, including performance indicators, benchmarks and internal and external reporting practices.
  • You have advanced Excel skills and experience using business intelligence tools such as Power BI.
  • Your experience includes analysing complex data and translating it into meaningful, practical and actionable business insights.
  • You'll have supported project budgeting, forecasting, expenditure reporting, business cases or benefits realisation within a complex organisation.
  • You're comfortable preparing financial and non-financial reporting for executives, senior stakeholders, governance forums or regulatory bodies.
  • You can bring together stakeholders from different parts of an organisation to achieve a cohesive outcome.
