XO Team India is the Hyderabad team of the Base8 group, which provides technology and business services to companies across the US and Canada, including Cure8, a managed IT provider for the cannabis industry. Our team works directly with US colleagues and clients every day over Teams, phone and our ticketing and CRM tools, so strong written and spoken English matters in every role.

The role

We need a senior engineer to own the design, build, and ongoing reliability of our Azure environments across production and hybrid workloads. You will be the final technical escalation point for complex incidents, driving permanent root-cause fixes rather than workarounds. Success in the first year means a measurable reduction in repeat production incidents, a mature automation baseline for routine operations, and clear, tested disaster-recovery procedures that the wider team can execute.

What you'll do

• Design, deploy, and maintain Azure infrastructure including VMs, storage, VNets, subnets, NSGs, VPNs, load balancers, and DNS.
• Serve as the L3 escalation point for production incidents, owning investigation through to permanent resolution.
• Manage Windows and Linux servers across cloud and hybrid on-premises environments.
• Implement and troubleshoot cloud networking and hybrid connectivity: VPNs, routing, firewalls, and network diagnostics.
• Administer identity and security controls in Entra ID, including RBAC, MFA, Conditional Access, encryption, secrets management, and workload hardening.
• Monitor and respond to security threats and vulnerabilities using Microsoft Defender and related tooling.
• Automate infrastructure and operational tasks with Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates and scripting in PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
• Integrate security checks into CI/CD pipelines and support DevSecOps practices.
• Manage and regularly test backup, restore, and disaster-recovery processes.
• Operate within ITIL-style Incident, Problem, and Change Management processes; join major-incident bridges and provide after-hours support when required.
• Maintain technical documentation, SOPs, architecture diagrams, recovery procedures, and audit evidence.
• Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with network, security, application, development, and cloud teams.

What you'll bring

• 10+ years of hands-on infrastructure engineering experience.
• 5+ years designing, implementing, and operating production Azure environments at scale.
• Deep practical knowledge of Azure compute, storage, networking, and security services.
• Strong scripting and automation skills with PowerShell, Python, or Bash and IaC tools (Terraform, Bicep, or ARM).
• Proven experience as the final technical escalation point for critical production incidents.
• Solid understanding of ITIL Incident, Problem, and Change Management processes.
• Nice to have
• Azure certifications (e.g., AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-500) or equivalent cloud credentials.
• Experience with Microsoft 365, Entra ID hybrid identity, and Defender for Cloud.
• Familiarity with RMM/PSA tooling used in managed-services environments.
• Background supporting US-based clients or MSP delivery models.
• Working hours
• US Pacific shift: 9:30 PM – 6:30 AM IST, Monday to Friday.

Transport

The company does not provide a cab or transport service for night shifts. Please plan your own commute.
