You will work with

You will join AI Enablement & Programme Management, a new central function that connects bp's AI strategy with delivery. The team creates visibility, consistent execution, strategic partner management and organisation-wide readiness, while delivery & specialist accountabilities remain with the relevant teams. You will support the AI Engagement, Community & Training Lead and work closely with Communications, Training, Workplace and Resilience, AI Governance, Digital Security, business-facing Digital teams, AI specialists and enabling functions.

The team is small, collaborative and outcomes-focused, and this role provides the structured delivery capacity needed to turn engagement, community and training strategies into measurable execution.

Let me tell you about the role

The AI Engagement, Community and Training Senior Change Manager will translate engagement, communications, community and learning strategies into coordinated plans, milestones and deliverables. You will handle cross-functional delivery across AI communications campaigns, the AI Champion community, the AI Community of Practice, AI learning coordination, trusted guidance and continued development of the AI Hub. The role combines senior project delivery, change and adoption practice, communications coordination, community activation, learning coordination, stakeholder management and digital content delivery.

You will deliver through influence in a matrix, recognising that communications and training execution remain owned by specialist teams.

What you will deliver

Planning and project delivery: Translate engagement, community and training strategies into integrated plans, milestones, dependencies and deliverables. Establish practical delivery rhythms, maintain momentum and ensure work is completed to agreed quality and outcomes.

Cross-functional coordination: Coordinate Communications, Training, Workplace and Resilience, AI Governance, Digital Security and other teams to execute shared priorities. Clarify roles and hand-offs, manage dependencies and avoid duplication of specialist responsibilities.

Communications delivery: Coordinate AI communication campaigns, content development, approvals and associated execution activity. Maintain coherent plans and ensure messages and materials are clear, consistent, timely and connected to adoption objectives.

Community activation: Re-establish and sustain the AI Champion community and AI Community of Practice. Coordinate operating rhythms, events, content, participation and follow-through so communities share learning, amplify trusted guidance and support adoption.

Learning coordination: Support the discovery and mapping of AI learning across bp, coordinate gap analysis and manage delivery activity against agreed priorities in partnership with Training teams.

AI Hub product and content delivery: Manage the continued development and improvement of the consolidated AI Hub. Coordinate backlog, content owners, user needs, publishing activity and lifecycle management so people can access trusted and current AI information.

Stakeholder management: Build effective working relationships across business-facing Digital teams, AI specialists and enabling functions. Maintain alignment, surface decisions and issues early, and adapt delivery to stakeholder and business needs.

Delivery governance and reporting: Track progress, dependencies, risks, issues, actions and outcomes across the engagement portfolio. Produce clear status reporting and decision support, and ensure commitments are owned and followed through.

Change, adoption and insight: Coordinate interventions that improve understanding, confidence and sustained use of AI. Support feedback loops, community listening and confidence measurement, using insight to refine future activity.

Continuous improvement: See opportunities to simplify plans, content processes, community operations and delivery controls. Capture learning and improve repeatability, quality and pace across the pillar.

What you will need to be successful (experience and qualifications)

Proven experience managing sophisticated technology projects or workstreams across communications, change, engagement, learning, community or digital content in a matrixed organisation.

Strong project planning and delivery skills, including achievements, dependencies, risks, issues, actions, reporting and outcome tracking. Experience of using AI Tools in project management.

Experience coordinating communications campaigns and content development across multiple contributors, approvals and channels.

Experience mobilising and sustaining communities, networks, champion programmes or communities of practice.

Experience coordinating learning needs discovery, learning portfolios or capability-building activity with specialist training teams.
