As Commodity Buyer (m/f/d), you will support and execute the EMEA indirect procurement strategy, ensuring the timely and cost-effective purchase of indirect goods and services for our headquarters and European entities. You will partner with stakeholders across functions and seniority levels, translate business requirements into practical procurement solutions, and create value through competitive sourcing, supplier consolidation, compliance and continuous improvement.

What you will do

As Commodity Buyer (m/f/d), you will use your expertise in indirect procurement, stakeholder management and strategic sourcing to:

• Manage purchase requisitions, purchase orders and sourcing activities for indirect materials and services across headquarters and European entities.
• Create transparency on demand, spend and supplier performance, and identify opportunities for standardization, bundling, automation and supplier consolidation.
• Partner proactively with operational requestors and senior leaders to clarify requirements, explain options and risks, and align decisions and next steps.
• Lead supplier selection, competitive bidding and negotiations, and coordinate contracts with Legal, Finance and relevant business functions.
• Improve strategic sourcing, tactical buying, approval, supplier onboarding and payment-related processes.
• Guide stakeholders through procurement policies and processes with a solution-oriented mindset while ensuring compliance and constructive challenge.
• Manage supplier relationships and monitor contractual, policy and performance expectations within the assigned portfolio.
• Take ownership of procurement issues through resolution, coordinating internal and external parties effectively.

What makes you a good fit

• Commercial or technical apprenticeship, bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Supply Chain Management or a comparable qualification.
• Relevant professional experience in procurement, sourcing or another industrial or service-oriented function; indirect procurement experience is preferred.
• Practical experience with sourcing, supplier selection, competitive bidding, negotiations, purchase orders and procurement process improvement.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with confidence engaging different functions, cultures and hierarchy levels.
• Supportive and customer-oriented approach combined with constructive challenge, analytical thinking, ownership and reliable follow-through.
• Knowledge of purchasing practices and applicable regulations; proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience with SAP and e-procurement tools are preferred.
• Fluent English and German.
