Senior Java Engineer with AI Platform & AWS - Hybrid Important Disclaimers: **Please note: A few of our roles may require in-person interviews at Cognizant offices or client locations, depending on project or client needs.** In this role, you will: Develop modular and scalable Java and Springboot microservices that power AI lifecycle workflows on the platform ensuring reliable performance and clear separation of concerns across services.

Implement robust APIs and service integrations that allow data scientists and engineers to easily deploy monitor and iterate on AI models using standardized platform capabilities. Apply Agile practices to plan estimate and deliver features in short iterations maintaining transparency with stakeholders and continuously improving team delivery processes. Use DevOps methods to automate build test and deployment pipelines for AI lifecycle components on AWS reducing manual steps and enabling faster safer releases.

Configure AWS services to host microservices and AI related workloads focusing on secure access efficient resource utilization and resilient failover strategies. Enhance observability for platform services through logging metrics and alerting enabling quick detection of issues and consistent tracking of AI workload performance. Collaborate with data and product teams to translate AI platform requirements into technical designs ensuring features support model training deployment governance and monitoring.

Conduct code reviews and refactoring activities to uphold high standards of code quality test coverage and maintainability across Java and Springboot based solutions. Optimize service performance and scalability by tuning microservice configurations database interactions and AWS infrastructure settings to handle growing AI workloads. Ensure security controls for data and services associated with AI lifecycle including robust authentication authorization and data handling practices aligned with enterprise policies.

Document platform designs operational procedures and user guides so AI practitioners and engineering peers can adopt and extend services with minimal friction. Support incident analysis and defect resolution for platform components using root cause techniques to prevent recurrence and strengthen overall reliability of AI solutions. Contribute to continuous improvement of AI lifecycle tooling and practices suggesting enhancements that simplify model deployment experimentation and governance.

What you need to have to be considered (Required): Combine extensive Java and Springboot expertise with microservices design experience to create stable and reusable platform components for AI workloads.

Apply Agile delivery experience to coordinate sprints refine backlog items and maintain steady progress on complex AI lifecycle initiatives. Use DevOps skills to design CI and CD pipelines manage configuration and integrate automated testing to sustain high release quality for platform features. Leverage AWS knowledge to select appropriate cloud services configure environments and manage cost and performance for AI enabled microservices and data flows.

Draw on experience in commercial lending domain when applicable to better align platform capabilities with credit processes risk assessment and financial product workflows. Apply strong problem solving skills and attention to detail developed over six to ten years of software engineering experience to handle complex technical challenges. Demonstrate clear communication and collaboration abilities that support effective coordination with technology and business stakeholders in a work from office day shift environment.

Salary and Other Compensation: Applications will be accepted until 11/20/2026. The annual salary for this position is from $83k to $132K depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
