Manager, Accounting Execution - Private Equity Advisory

New York City, NY Hybrid Full-time

Ready to Lead Engagements and Grow in Accounting Advisory?

At DLA, we combine the resources of a national firm with the energy of a fast-growing, entrepreneurial team. We work directly with CFOs, Controllers, and senior finance leaders at companies in the middle of their most complex moments, and we're building the team to do it at scale.

We're currently looking for a Manager, Accounting Execution to join our Accounting & Financial Operations team in New York, NY. This is a cornerstone role in DLA's newly formed Accounting Execution group, offering a rare opportunity to shape both client engagements and the culture of a growing practice.

What You'll Do

  • You'll lead interim accounting engagements end-to-end at clients navigating transactions, transitions, and operational complexity. Your day-to-day may include:
  • Owning engagement delivery from scoping through completion — workstreams, timelines, and quality
  • Serving as the primary client contact for CFO- and Controller-level stakeholders, building trusted advisor relationships
  • Overseeing close process management, financial statement preparation, technical accounting analysis, and external audit coordination
  • Directing, coaching, and developing a team of Seniors and Associates
  • Participating in recruiting, business development, and internal firm-building initiatives

What You'll Bring

We know great team members come from all kinds of backgrounds. Some things we typically look for:

A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

5–8 years of progressive accounting experience; Big 4 or large national firm background strongly preferred

CPA required or actively in process; CPA licensure strongly preferred

Strong U.S. GAAP knowledge with hands-on experience managing complex accounting matters

Demonstrated experience running engagements or managing accounting functions independently

Prior experience in PE-backed, private equity portfolio company, or transaction-driven environments (carve-outs, integrations, restatements, IPO readiness) strongly preferred

Proven supervisory skills and the ability to develop junior team members effectively

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with senior client stakeholders
