Assistant Accountant – Central Costs

Luton | Full-time | Hybrid

20% bonus

  • 7% pension
  • Staff travel benefits

We support hybrid working, and you’ll spend 60% of your time each month in the office.

You’re the kind of finance professional who spots the detail, understands the bigger picture and keeps month-end moving.

You enjoy turning accurate accounting into useful insight, building strong relationships across the business and finding practical ways to make processes work better.

The opportunity

Join our Record to Report team and help ensure easyJet’s central costs, liabilities and associated balances are accurately recorded, reconciled and reported.

You’ll support accounting for central overheads, marketing and insurance, contributing to month-end close, management reporting, audit activity and strong financial governance across the business.

The team & culture

You’ll be part of the R2R team, working closely with colleagues across Finance, HR, Payroll and the wider business. It’s a collaborative environment where accuracy, clear communication and dependable delivery matter.

Our Promise Behaviours are Safe, Bold, Welcoming and Challenging. In this team, that means protecting strong controls, asking thoughtful questions and improving how we work together.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll prepare and post monthly journals for central overheads, marketing costs and insurance premiums, making sure costs are allocated accurately across departments, cost centres and projects.

You’ll manage accruals and prepayments, reconcile relevant balance sheet and control accounts, and investigate differences between cost reports, supplier invoices and the general ledger.

You’ll provide cost-centre analysis and variance commentary, support budgeting and forecasting, respond to audit requests and help maintain effective internal controls.

What we’re looking for

You’ll bring experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar finance role, with a strong understanding of month-end processes and balance sheet reconciliations.

You’re analytical and detail-focused, comfortable managing competing priorities and confident communicating with stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

You’ll have good Microsoft Excel and financial-systems knowledge. Studying towards AAT, ACCA or CIMA, and experience supporting audits or financial-control frameworks, would be useful rather than essential.

What you’ll get

  • > Competitive base salary + up to 20% bonus
  • > 7% employer pension contribution
  • > Private medical insurance
  • > 25 days holiday + bank holidays
  • > Annual credit towards an easyJet holiday
  • > Excellent staff travel benefits
  • > Flexible benefits package including share schemes
  • Diversity isn't a checkbox — it's how we fly
  • Different perspectives strengthen our decisions and our controls. Whatever your background, if you bring curiosity, care and a commitment to accurate work, we’d like to hear from you.
