Nationwide Building Society Finance/FinTech

Senior Business Analyst - Finance

Swindon, United Kingdom Hybrid Full-time

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Business Analyst to join the Finance & Treasury RCC Value Stream within DFTD.

Nationwide's Finance function plays a critical role in maintaining the Society's financial strength, supporting strategic decision-making and meeting our financial and regulatory responsibilities. Our teams work across areas including financial reporting, reconciliation and accounting, budgeting and forecasting, performance analysis, risk and compliance, and Treasury.

As a Senior Business Analyst, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering complex change across Finance. You will collaborate with and influence senior stakeholders, technology teams and business SMEs to understand business needs, challenge existing processes and translate complex problems into clear, deliverable business outcomes.

The Finance change portfolio is varied and evolving, with opportunities to work across significant transformation initiatives. Current and upcoming areas of change include:

Finance reconciliation transformation, migrating reconciliations from legacy technology onto strategic platforms and simplifying the associated processes and controls.

Wider Finance transformation and modernisation, helping to simplify processes, reduce reliance on legacy technology and create sustainable, strategically aligned solutions.

New and evolving Finance, Treasury, regulatory and reporting requirements, requiring robust analysis, clear requirements and effective management of cross-functional impacts and dependencies.

Finance change arising from Payments Transformation and Unisys decommissioning, addressing accounting and

reconciliation impacts as legacy technology is replaced by strategic solutions. This includes initiatives such as Payment Central, BOSS Decoupling, BACS Batch Ledger and Faster Payments, together with their associated dependencies

You will be expected to operate confidently in complex and sometimes ambiguous environments, bringing structure and clarity to problems, challenging constructively, identifying impacts and dependencies, and using strong Business Analysis practices to help stakeholders make informed decisions and deliver sustainable change.

We are happy to consider flexible working approaches to help you perform at your best.

This is a 24 month secondment opportunity.

What you’ll be doing

You will take a leading role in scoping and shaping Business Analysis activities across both inflight change and upcoming demand, establishing the appropriate analysis approach and translating business needs into clear outcomes and deliverables.

A key part of the role will be providing task and line management to Business Analysts, setting clear expectations, supporting prioritisation and development, and assuring the quality of analysis outputs. You will coach others in the effective application of Business Analysis practices and help drive consistent, high-quality standards across the team.

You will build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and colleagues across multidisciplinary and geographically dispersed teams, confidently communicating progress, risks, dependencies and challenges while constructively influencing decisions and outcomes.
