Cash Analyst

• Sompo has a unique opportunity for a Cash Analyst in our Cash & Collections team.
• This role is responsible for allocating cash to the subledger to the premium receivable. As well as consistent timely follow up for the resolution of any cash that has not been allocated.

What you’ll be doing

• Ensures timely and accurate application of cash receipts to the receivable
• Supports the Query Management process to ensure timely followup and resolution of queries.
• Troubleshoot data reconciliation and variance issues with internal departments as well as with the Broker’s Accounts Payable team to resolve unallocated cash issues
• Strong Analytical ability, and detail oriented with the ability to work on high volume of daily transactions
• Develop strong relationships with our internal Underwriting Units to ensure quality service
• Support development, maintenance and distribution of concise and accurate reporting of balances
• Provide Information for all EY Audit Requests, premium confirmation letters and support for all requested balances.
• Support the bank reconciliation process and intercompany transfer process
• Ad-hoc project requests

What you’ll bring

1+ years of Accounts Receivable(background in commercial collections) and Cash Application experience

Bachelor’s degree Accounting/Finance

Must have proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Expert Level Excel Skills Required (Pivot Tables, V-Lookups, etc.)

SAP/CD experience preferred

Basic understanding of accounting procedures, internal and external reporting and variance analysis

Knowledge of Insurance principles preferred

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Detail oriented, organized, and strong problem solver with Analytical abilities and have a high level of accuracy

Ability to work in a fast paced, high volume team environment with rapidly changing priorities and demands

Desired personal qualities include: energetic, resourceful, hardworking, self-motivated, highly organized and able to prioritize
