The role

Drawing on its reputation for providing deep industry experience and leading consulting services to the wealth and asset management industry, EY is continuing to grow its Wealth and Asset Management Business Transformation practice.

At Senior Manager, we are looking for more than someone who can deliver transformation programmes. We are looking for someone clients want in the room when the answer is not obvious. You will combine deep Wealth and Asset Management knowledge with transformation leadership and commercial judgement to challenge assumptions, create clarity and turn senior ambition into change that lands across the business.

The opportunity

You will help win, shape and deliver some of the most consequential transformations our Wealth and Asset Management clients undertake: rethinking where and how they compete, redesigning the organisation around clients and growth, removing structural cost and complexity, scaling new propositions and channels, and deciding how data and AI should change the work itself.

Just as importantly, you will help build our own business by creating propositions the market wants, opening new conversations, growing accounts and developing the next generation of transformation leaders.

We deliberately work across the full transformation lifecycle, from setting strategic direction and building the case for change through future-state design, mobilisation, implementation and benefits realisation. You will operate from strategy through execution, working with senior stakeholders when choices are difficult and trade-offs are real.

As a Senior Manager, you will shape that end-to-end journey, challenge clients on the choices and trade-offs, and create the conditions for the transformation to deliver measurable and lasting value.

Your key responsibilities

As a senior member of the team, you will lead complex client assignments and major workstreams, build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and shape opportunities for new business. You will contribute to account and revenue growth and play an important role in developing our people, propositions and broader Wealth and Asset Management Business Transformation practice.

Client Delivery and Account Growth

Shape and lead complex engagements across the transformation lifecycle, with responsibility for delivery quality, client outcomes, commercial performance and measurable value.

Build trusted adviser relationships with senior stakeholders and provide clear points of view and challenge.

Identify and shape opportunities, lead pursuits and proposals, contribute to account planning, and support account and revenue growth.

Business Strategy, Operating Model and Transformation

Shape end-to-end transformation and target operating model solutions across strategy, client experience, organisation, process, governance, data and enabling technology.

Lead strategic assessments, operating model design, client and adviser journey transformation, growth and cost transformation, organisational change, mobilisation and implementation.

Develop compelling recommendations, roadmaps and business cases that connect strategic choices to practical delivery, investment decisions and measurable benefits.

Programme and Delivery Leadership

Lead multi-disciplined teams and complex programmes or major workstreams, setting clear direction and maintaining high standards of delivery.

Oversee plans, risks, issues, dependencies and senior client decisions across delivery.

Lead senior client forums and communicate complex ideas and recommendations clearly and confidently.

Wealth and Asset Management Domain Expertise

• Bring deep understanding of the Wealth and Asset Management value chain and operating environment, with expertise in one or more of asset management, wealth management, alternatives/private markets or asset servicing.
• Use market, customer and regulatory insight to shape relevant transformation responses for clients.
• Help senior clients determine where data, AI, technology and platform change can materially improve client outcomes, decision-making, productivity and business economics, and embed those choices within the wider transformation.
• People and Capability Development
• Lead, coach and develop Managers, Senior Consultants and broader teams, supporting high performance and career development.
• Lead the development of propositions, methods, assets and thought leadership.
• Contribute to recruitment, learning, knowledge sharing and the continued growth of the practice.
• Required skills, experience and domain expertise
• Significant experience leading complex transformation in Wealth and Asset Management or a closely related financial services environment.
• Deep understanding of the Wealth and Asset Management value chain, operating environment and current market trends, with expertise in one or more of asset management, wealth management, alternatives/private markets or asset servicing.
• Strong experience in operating model and process transformation, programme delivery and implementation.
• Excellent senior stakeholder management, communication, presentation and workshop facilitation skills.
• A structured approach to problem solving and the ability to shape clear recommendations from complex issues.
• Strong commercial awareness and experience shaping pursuits, proposals, propositions and account growth activity.
• Experience leading and developing project teams, including Senior Consultants, Managers and other experienced colleagues.
• A strong understanding of how data, AI and technology are shaping transformation across Wealth and Asset Management.
• Willingness to travel and work at client sites where required by the client or project.
• Ideally, you’ll also have
• Industry recognised business, finance, IT or project management qualifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, Lean Six Sigma, BPR, CIMA or CFA.
• A good understanding of one or more of the following: buy-side front and middle office, risk, compliance, advice and financial planning, operations, alternatives/private markets or asset servicing.
• Experience developing propositions, thought leadership or other market-facing content.
