The role operates under the direction of regional OHS legal/compliance leadership and does not independently set OHS legal strategy or issue final interpretations of regulatory obligations.
Key Responsibilities
Policy & Process Support
Support drafting, amendment and harmonization of OHS management processes, procedures and systems for the assigned region's entities, incorporating input from OHS leadership, Global Compliance, Global HR and other stakeholders, and aligned with applicable local occupational health and safety legislation
Coordinate review and update cycles for regional OHS policies and procedures, escalating substantive legal or regulatory interpretation questions to OHS leadership
Maintain documentation and version control for regional OHS policy materials
Local Works Council & Regulatory Coordination
Support coordination with local employee representative bodies (e.g. works councils) on health and safety matters subject to co-determination or consultation rights under applicable local employment law, preparing briefing materials and tracking consultation and agreement processes under attorney/HR direction
Support coordination with local statutory accident insurance/regulatory bodies and labour inspectorates, including reporting and documentation obligations
Track local regulatory deadlines and filing/reporting obligations relevant to OHS compliance
Reporting & KPI Administration

- Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of the digital incident reporting tool, including data accuracy checks, user support and adoption tracking
- Support automation initiatives and exploration of digital solutions for OHS reporting and analytics, coordinating with IT and relevant vendors
Data, Risk & Remediation Support
Support regular data, risk and impact analysis for regional OHS matters, compiling findings for review by OHS leadership
Track and coordinate remediation action items arising from OHS risk/incident analysis, following up with responsible stakeholders on completion
Knowledge Management & Training Support
Support development of OHS training materials and training concepts under the direction of OHS leadership
Maintain OHS knowledge management resources and documentation for internal reference
Level-Specific Scope
Manages significant regional OHS process/reporting workstreams with limited oversight from OHS leadership; coaches and delegates work to more junior paralegals/support staff
Makes decisions on complex, sometimes ambiguous coordination and process matters; escalates matters requiring legal interpretation of local OHS regulatory obligations or works council co-determination questions to OHS leadership
Advises OHS leadership on process and operational improvements of significance (e.g. KPI reporting design, incident tool functionality, works council briefing materials) but does not independently set OHS legal strategy or negotiate directly with employee representative bodies
Represents the OHS function in cross-functional coordination relevant to the assigned region's entities
Improves existing OHS management processes and reporting methods; does not have authority to create new standards independently
Does not provide legal advice or make final determinations on regulatory compliance obligations - supports and prepares under attorney/OHS-leadership direction
Bachelor's degree with approximately 8 -12 years of relevant experience (or Master's degree with 6+ years, or PhD with 3+ years), including substantial experience in EHS/OHS compliance administration, legal operations, or a comparable regulatory-support function, ideally with exposure to the employment/OHS law of the supported region
Working knowledge of the OHS regulatory framework and employee representative/works council consultation processes applicable to the supported region preferred
Experience with digital incident reporting/EHS management systems and data analytics tools
