This person works alongside a Huron business team. They turn the business problem into an AI solution design on Microsoft Azure that the engineers can build. They own that design end to end, build the hard parts alongside the engineers, and are the main link between the business and the pod.
Key Responsibilities
- Frame the problem. Run the early conversations with the business to frame the problem worth solving and decide where AI fits and where it does not.
- Own the design. Produce the solution architecture on Azure, covering models, retrieval, agents, data, identity, networking, and security. Keep it current as the work evolves.
- Design for production. Make the design secure, governed, observable, and cost-aware from the start, in line with the Azure Well-Architected Framework and Huron security and governance standards.
- Translate both ways. Between what the business needs and what the engineers build.
- Set the measures. Agree what success looks like and how it is measured, including model and agent evaluation, with the Engagement Manager and the engineers before the build starts.
- Build the hard parts. Work alongside the engineers on the pieces of the build the design depends on, including infrastructure as code, retrieval pipelines, and agent orchestration.
- Bring domain depth. Keep the design right for the industry it serves.
Preferred Qualifications
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
- Claude Certified Architect - Foundations.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Engineer Associate.
- Hands-on experience with Azure AI services, including Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search, and Azure AI Foundry, and with Anthropic Claude models.
- Understands RAG, agents, and evaluation well enough to design and build them.
- Infrastructure as code with Bicep or Terraform, and CI/CD on Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
- Healthcare or higher education domain depth, including work with regulated data.
- Comfortable in fast-paced, changing environments with shifting priorities and unclear problems.
