We are looking for an experienced Contract and Revenue Accountant to join our European OTC team.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that customer contracts are accurately translated into billing and accounting outcomes. You will work across the contract lifecycle, from reviewing commercial terms and setting up contracts through to invoicing, revenue recognition, accruals, reconciliations, and financial analysis.

This is an opportunity to combine strong accounting expertise with commercial understanding in an international, subscription-based environment. You will work closely with Sales, Consulting, Finance, and Market Unit teams to ensure that contractual arrangements are accurately reflected in our financial systems and reporting.

If you enjoy understanding the commercial substance behind the numbers, interpreting contracts, and turning complex requirements into accurate financial outcomes, this role could be a great fit.

What you'll do

  • Review customer orders, contracts, and amendments to identify their commercial, billing, and accounting implications.
  • Translate contractual terms into appropriate invoicing and revenue accounting treatment.
  • Set up and maintain recurring revenue contracts in the ERP system in line with approved customer orders and contractual terms.
  • Manage invoicing for license, cloud, maintenance, subscription, and other recurring revenue products.
  • Review subscription calculations and contract data to ensure accuracy and completeness before invoicing.
  • Ensure accurate accounting for recurring revenue, direct costs, accruals, deferrals, contract assets, and partner commissions.
  • Support revenue recognition assessments in accordance with IFRS 15 and company accounting policies.
  • Review revenue-related general ledger postings and reconcile contract, billing, revenue, and GL information.
  • Perform variance analysis and investigate differences between contractual, invoiced, deferred, and recognized revenue.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close and financial reporting activities.
  • Maintain clear and accurate documentation to support accounting decisions, reconciliations, internal controls, and audit requirements.
  • Partner with Finance and commercial stakeholders to resolve contract, invoicing, and revenue accounting matters.
  • Prepare relevant financial analyses, reports, and key performance indicators using business intelligence tools.
  • Identify opportunities to improve contract management, invoicing, revenue accounting, and reporting processes.
  • Provide guidance and support to colleagues and business stakeholders on contract, invoicing, and revenue accounting processes.

What you'll bring

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in accounting, finance, economics, business administration, or a related field.
  • At least three years of relevant experience in revenue accounting, contract accounting, financial accounting, invoicing, or a related area.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, particularly revenue recognition, accruals, deferrals, contract assets, reconciliations, and revenue-related general ledger accounting.
  • Experience reviewing customer contracts and translating commercial terms into invoicing and accounting requirements.
  • Good understanding of recurring revenue, subscription, maintenance, cloud, licensing, or similar business models.
  • Experience working with ERP systems and Order-to-Cash or contract-to-invoice processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • A structured and organized approach, with the ability to manage deadlines and deliver accurate results.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain accounting and contractual matters clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Professional fluency in English.
  • The ability to take ownership while collaborating effectively in an international, matrixed organization.
  • It would be an advantage if you have
  • Experience in the software, SaaS, cloud, licensing, or subscription industry.
  • Practical knowledge of IFRS 15.
  • Experience with IFS applications.
  • Experience using business intelligence or financial reporting tools.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP or other relevant local accounting standards.
  • French language skills.

What will make you successful

You bring together strong accounting fundamentals, analytical thinking, and commercial curiosity. You are comfortable working with contracts and financial data, investigating discrepancies, and taking ownership through to resolution.

You look beyond individual transactions to understand the wider financial impact of contractual decisions. You are confident asking questions, challenging inconsistencies, and working across functions to achieve accurate and timely outcomes.

You also enjoy improving the way things work. Whether strengthening controls, simplifying processes, or improving the quality of financial information, you take a proactive approach and look for opportunities to make a meaningful contribution.

If you are looking for a role that brings together contract accounting, recurring revenue, financial analysis, and international business partnering, we'd like to hear from you.

We embrace flexibility and hybrid work opportunities to support diverse needs and lifestyles, while also valuing inclusive workplace experiences. By fostering a sense of community, we drive innovation, strengthen connections, and nurture belonging. Our commitment ensures you can work in a way that suits you best, while also engaging with colleagues to share ideas and build meaningful relationships.
