IT Project Manager

Saint-Laurent, Canada Hybrid Full-time

Imperial Brady Canada, leading national distributor, has a job open in Saint-Laurent. The Project Manager will be accountable for establishing clear objectives and plans, coordinating cross-functional teams, controlling scope, schedule, budget, risks and quality, and ensuring that approved outcomes are delivered and transitioned successfully to operations. The Project Manager will also play an active role in deploying, applying and reinforcing Imperial Brady Canada’s project management methodology.

The role combines disciplined project delivery with practical governance, stakeholder engagement, communication and change leadership. The incumbent will adapt the level of control to the size, complexity and risk of each initiative while ensuring that required documentation, approvals, stage gates and reporting standards are respected. Responsibilities: Lead assigned projects from initiation through planning, execution, implementation, transition and close-out, ensuring delivery within approved scope, schedule, budget, quality and business-outcome expectations.

Work with sponsors and business owners to define the project purpose, measurable objectives, success criteria, benefits, scope, assumptions, constraints and decision rights. Develop and maintain the project charter, integrated project plan, schedule, budget, resource plan, communications plan and other required project documentation. Coordinate cross-functional business, technology and vendor teams; clarify responsibilities, manage commitments and maintain alignment across workstreams and dependencies.

Apply the Imperial Brady Canada project management methodology, governance model, templates, stage gates, approval requirements and reporting standards consistently and proportionately. Support the deployment and continuous improvement of the methodology by piloting tools, providing practical feedback, coaching participants and reinforcing required practices. Plan and facilitate project kick-offs, working sessions, governance reviews, steering committees, stage-gate reviews, status meetings and lessons-learned sessions.

Proactively identify, assess and manage risks, issues, dependencies, assumptions and decisions; establish owners and due dates, recommend mitigation actions and escalate when required. Manage scope and change control by documenting requests, analysing impacts on cost, schedule, resources, risk and benefits, and obtaining the required approvals before implementation. Monitor progress against the approved baseline, analyse variances and trends, develop recovery plans and communicate corrective actions clearly and promptly.

Manage project budgets, forecasts, purchase commitments, vendor deliverables, invoices and financial reporting in collaboration with Finance, Procurement and project sponsors. Prepare concise, accurate and decision-ready project status reports and dashboards covering progress, milestones, budget, risks, issues, dependencies, decisions and next steps. Coordinate business readiness, change impacts, communications, training, testing, cutover, implementation and transition to operations with the appropriate stakeholders.

Ensure project deliverables are complete, reviewed, approved, traceable and stored in the designated repositories in accordance with Imperial Brady Canada standards. Build productive relationships with sponsors, business leaders, project team members, operational stakeholders and external partners across Canada and the United States. Promote accountability, collaboration, transparency and timely decision-making, while adapting the delivery approach to the project’s complexity, risk and organisational context.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 7 years of progressive project management experience in complex, cross-functional environments. Demonstrated experience managing projects from initiation through implementation and close-out, including scope, schedule, budget, resources, risks, vendors and organisational change.

Experience managing enterprise technology, ERP, eCommerce, CRM, PIM, data, integration, infrastructure, business transformation or acquisition-integration initiatives is strongly preferred. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent is strongly preferred. Agile or change-management certification is an asset. Experience in distribution, wholesale, supply chain, logistics, finance or customer-service operations is an asset.

Bilingual (English and French). Employee needs to be able to communicate and collaborate with the head office, internal teams, external vendors and partners. Strong command of project planning, estimation, scheduling, budgeting, resource coordination, risk management, issue resolution, change control and project close-out. Ability to create structure in ambiguous situations, establish priorities and translate strategic objectives into executable plans.

Strong leadership, facilitation, negotiation, conflict-resolution, coaching and influencing skills, including the ability to lead without direct authority. Sound judgement, critical thinking and the ability to prepare concise, decision-ready recommendations for senior leaders and sponsors. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to executive, business, operational, technical and vendor audiences.

Working knowledge of predictive, Agile and hybrid delivery approaches and the judgement to select and adapt the appropriate approach. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools. Experience with Microsoft Project, Planner, Power BI, Visio, Excel, SharePoint, Teams, Jira, Asana or similar tools is desirable. Working/Other Conditions: Hybrid work model. Indoor office environment. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Prolong periods of sitting, and computer and phone use. Ability to support activities outside regular hours when required for implementations or critical business events. Occasional travel to Imperial Brady locations may be required.
