Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI) Engineer to take end-to-end ownership of build and release management, hardware certification, and infrastructure engineering for an HCI platform.

The role combines embedded systems development, cloud-native integrations, build and release ownership, and hardware-software validation. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience across compute, storage, networking, and hardware acceleration, ensuring reliable, secure, and enterprise-ready builds.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and Release Management
  • Maintain, monitor, and optimize CI/CD pipelines for HCI software components.
  • Troubleshoot build failures and ensure build reliability and availability.
  • Perform vulnerability scans and integrate security checks into the build process.
  • Collaborate with development teams to resolve build issues and maintain secure coding practices.
  • HCI Hardware Certification and Validation
  • Validate HCI platforms across server, storage, and network hardware vendors.
  • Perform interoperability, firmware compatibility, and compliance testing.
  • Certify performance and reliability across OEM platforms such as Dell, HPE, and Cisco.
  • Execute benchmarking, regression, chaos, and resiliency testing for enterprise workloads.
  • Infrastructure and Platform Engineering
  • Enhance and maintain the HCI stack across compute, storage, and networking.
  • Develop and optimize high-performance I/O paths, storage acceleration, and networking offloads.
  • Integrate custom hardware with Kubernetes using CRDs, CSI/CNI drivers, and Operators.
  • Perform scalability and performance tuning under production-like workloads.
  • Use Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and Pulumi for consistent deployments.
  • Collaboration and Support
  • Collaborate with Product Management to define technical requirements and customer use cases.
  • Support QA and Support teams in troubleshooting and resolving escalations.
  • Participate in Proof of Concept (PoC) deployments and customer-facing solution validation.
  • Coordinate with hardware vendors and certification bodies to ensure compliance.
  • Documentation and Code Quality
  • Document build processes, certification procedures, and infrastructure deployments.
  • Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, and architecture improvements.
  • Maintain high code quality through unit, integration, and automation test coverage.
  • Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, embedded systems, or hardware certification.
  • Strong programming skills in C, C++, Go, and Shell scripting.
  • Experience with Linux kernel internals, performance tuning, and driver development.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, including CSI/CNI driver development, Operators, Helm, and container runtimes.
  • Knowledge of storage technologies such as NVMe, NVMe-oF, iSCSI, Fibre Channel, and distributed storage systems.
  • Understanding of networking technologies, including VLANs, SDN, SR-IOV, DPDK, and NIC offloads.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, and GitHub Actions.
  • Familiarity with Ansible, Terraform, and Pulumi.
  • Experience with hardware integration, including PCIe devices, BIOS/UEFI, firmware upgrades, BMC, iLO, and iDRAC.
  • Knowledge of debugging and security tools such as GDB, logic analyzers, JTAG, Snyk, Trivy, and SonarQube.
  • Good to Have
  • Familiarity with service mesh technologies such as Istio and Linkerd.
  • Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.
  • Knowledge of compliance frameworks such as FIPS, FedRAMP, and PCI-DSS.
  • Experience with secure Kubernetes operations and OPA/Gatekeeper.
  • Exposure to chaos testing and infrastructure validation automation frameworks.
  • Experience with multi-cluster management platforms such as Spektra, Rancher, Anthos, or OpenShift.
  • Strong communication and mentoring skills.
  • Certifications such as CKA or CKAD.
  • Contributions to open-source projects involving Kubernetes, the Linux kernel, or storage.
  • Familiarity with hardware debugging tools and testing frameworks.

What We Offer
