Sydney, Australia In person Full-time

Location: Sydney

We're seeking an experienced Senior Business Partner, Risk & Control to join a high-performing first line risk team within a leading banking and financial services environment.

Joining our Operational Design, Control & Resilience (ODCR) business partnering team, you’ll be responsible for supporting non-financial, regulatory and compliance risk activities undertaken in the 1st line of defence, and act as a trusted adviser to business stakeholders. • Provide guidance on risk in change initiatives, business projects and transformation programs.
  • Lead investigations, root-cause analysis, reviews and remediation activities to address systemic issues.
  • Coordinate responses to regulatory developments, impact assessments and regulatory inquiries.
  • Serve as a key liaison between the business and second line risk and compliance teams.
  • Support governance forums, reporting and decision-making through insightful risk analysis.
  • Coach and uplift business capability through training, guidance and risk awareness initiatives.

What we're looking for

10+ years' experience in operational risk, compliance, or related risk management role within the first or second line of defence.

Experience working in a banking environment and strong understanding of banking products, operations and end-to-end business processes. Demonstrated experience supporting retail and/or business lending – either from a product and/or operational perspective – would be beneficial.

Experience supporting end-to-end risk assessments, risk in change, transformation or regulatory remediation programs.

Exceptional stakeholder management, influencing and communication skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving capability with experience in root cause analysis methodologies, event and issue management, and deep dive reviews.
