Transcend is a global business transformation program that will modernize our foundational transactional processes and harmonize them into one “clean” ERP as a standardized platform for growth and efficiency gains. The program will simplify the sector ERP landscape from 7 to 1, standardizing processes to deliver a cost-effective, fit-for-purpose digital backbone that enables us to support the Innovative Medicine business with agility. It will also remediate end-of-life system exposure expected toward the end of this decade.

We are searching for the best talent for Manager, Transcend IMO. This hybrid role is located in Cork, Ireland. Alternate hybrid locations may be considered at other Innovative Medicine Supply Chain (IMSC) hubs location such as: Madrid, Spain; Latina, Italy; and Lisbon, Portugal.

About the Interdependency Management Office (IMO)

The IMO is the connective tissue between Transcend and the initiatives running across IM portfolios and enterprise functions. It provides a common intake for interdependencies and ERP demand, triages and routes items to the appropriate pathway, supports assessment of Transcend impact, and tracks items through decision and closure in partnership with Transcend and portfolio governance.

Position Summary

The Manager, IMO supports the IMO’s day-to-day operations and contributes functional insight to the assessment of interdependencies between Transcend and other initiatives. The role combines operational rigor (intake, triage, routing, register, cadence, reporting) with functional depth in SAP-enabled supply chain processes, helping assessments explain why a dependency exists, what drives its timing, and what it means for the program.

This role also maintains the IMO’s institutional knowledge: the assessment frameworks, guiding principles, use case library and collaborator network developed through each assessment cycle.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Interdependency Intake, Triage and Functional Assessment

Execute the IMO end-to-end process (Identify, Route, Assess and Decide, Integrate, Monitor and Close) for interdependencies and demand raised across IM portfolios and enterprise functions.

Run the IMO intake: confirm completeness, pre-screen, classify by use case and route to the appropriate pathway (e.g., Strategic Demand, Program/Release or Operate) using the IMO routing logic.

Coordinate and contribute to Transcend impact assessments for initiatives entering investment governance, including pre-screening projects above $5MM ahead of Investment Review Committee (IRC) cycles.

Lead the functional impact assessment by engaging the appropriate process owners and subject matter experts to identify affected business processes, system and data impacts, deployment or release considerations, and cross-functional dependencies.

Apply the IMO assessment workflow, which typically includes functional assessment, scope ownership and deployment owner validation, roadmap versus release classification, funding implications, impact and disposition.

Probe the underlying business process (what creates the dependency, timing triggers, systems involved, operational impact) to build a complete view beyond initial project responses.

Translate findings into a clear “so what” for leadership, such as whether an item is roadmap or release scope, whether it is already covered, whether a decision is needed, and the level of risk.

IMO Operations and Process Mechanics

Maintain the Interdependency Register, including data quality, ownership and status through closure.

Support the IMO operating cadence, including regular check-ins between interdependent teams, syncs with Strategic Demand and program coordination, and IRC preparation.

Prepare the IMO scorecard and status reporting for Transcend forums.

Maintain the intake form, templates, standard operating procedures and handoff standards with receiving pathways.

Identify practical opportunities to automate intake, routing and reporting (e.g., SharePoint, Power Automate, Power BI) and use AI tools to accelerate analysis and documentation.

Stakeholder and Functional Network

Build and sustain a network of portfolio points of contact across R&D, Plan, Source, Make, Deliver, Quality, Trade, Value Chain Management, Finance and other functions.

Partner with Global Template and Transcend process owners, deployment leads, Strategic Demand, Ecosystem and architecture review teams to confirm assessors and validate scope.

Develop working relationships with experienced functional leaders as thought partners to accelerate understanding of complex end-to-end processes.

Leverage existing governance forums where possible and coordinate requests to subject matter experts to minimize duplication.

Frameworks, Ways of Working and Continuous Improvement

Document and maintain reusable assessment frameworks developed from casework (e.g., a contract manufacturer (CMO) framework considering principal company ownership, transaction timing relative to go-live, integration requirements, business need date, roadmap or release coverage and potential duplicate setup).

Maintain the IMO Playbook, use case framework and interdependency type structure, expanding the use case library as new patterns emerge.

Capture lessons learned from assessment cycles and help refine the end-to-end process with the IMO Lead.

Coordinate the work of consultant resources supporting the IMO and capture work product in IMO documentation.
