Your Role
We are seeking an MPS Planner to develop and maintain a feasible Master Production Schedule that translates validated customer demand into clear production priorities. In this role, you will balance customer service, material availability, capacity, inventory, and operating constraints while keeping risks and trade-offs visible so teams can make timely, fact-based decisions.
Our Team
You will be part of the Materials and Production Planning organization, partnering closely with Production, Purchasing, Customer Service, Quality, Engineering, Warehouse, and Logistics. Together, the team will maintain one reliable production plan, resolve constraints, and support customer commitments in a fast-paced electronics manufacturing environment.
What You Will Do
- Develop and maintain a time-phased Master Production Schedule for assigned products or production lines based on customer orders, forecasts, backlog, inventory targets, and business priorities.
- Review demand changes, planning horizons, frozen or firm periods, lot sizes, lead times, and order policies, validating assumptions with the appropriate stakeholders.
- Maintain schedule dates, quantities, and planning parameters in SAP or the approved planning system using the latest validated information.
- Validate MPS proposals against component availability, supplier lead times, production capacity, labor, tooling, routings, and planned downtime.
- Analyze MRP exceptions and coordinate the resolution or escalation of shortages, past-due requirements, reschedule messages, excess supply, and master-data issues.
- Monitor production performance against the approved schedule and coordinate recovery plans when shortages, quality holds, yield losses, equipment issues, or priority changes affect execution.
- Communicate schedule changes, customer impact, quantities, dates, risks, required actions, and decision needs clearly and promptly.
- Support automotive customer requirements, new product introductions, engineering changes, production trials, launch readiness, and customer-specific delivery schedules, when applicable.
- Identify excess, obsolete, blocked, slow-moving, or at-risk inventory and coordinate disposition or consumption plans with accountable owners.
- Analyze recurring schedule instability and planning exceptions, supporting root-cause actions that improve customer service, productivity, inventory performance, and planning reliability.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Business, Operations, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
- 4+ years of experience in production planning, master scheduling, or materials planning within an electronics manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of MPS, MRP, inventory control, production routings, lead times, capacity constraints, and schedule management.
- Hands-on experience using SAP or another ERP/MRP and strong Excel skills for planning analysis and reporting.
- Ability to interpret planning exceptions, organize competing priorities, communicate risks clearly, and follow issues through to closure.
- Professional working proficiency in English and Spanish.
What Will Put You Ahead
- Experience supporting automotive customers or programs in electronics, electromechanical, semiconductor, or similar manufacturing.
- Knowledge of EDI schedules, JIT/JIS delivery, launch coordination, engineering changes, and customer-specific requirements.
- Exposure to IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, control plans, or automotive quality and launch processes.
- APICS/ASCM certification such as CPIM or CSCP.
- Advanced Excel reporting, planning analytics, or experience with an additional ERP/MRP platform.
