About the team

Our Advisory capability brings our Consulting and Deal Advisory businesses together as one team, combining our expertise and talent. We solve business challenges, helping our clients to realise their growth ambitions, from strategy to transaction and through to transformation.

The mission of Technology and Data (T&D) is to create a future where our clients thrive, our business grows, and our people flourish.

By using our multidisciplinary technical teams, Technology and Data collaborates across Advisory to build integrated solutions and bring end to end propositions to our clients, creating value through technology. We support clients across a wide range of challenges within a transformation lifecycle - from setting their strategy, ensuring regulatory compliance, through to transformative implementation.

Microsoft Business Solutions helps clients use Microsoft technology to address business challenges and deliver transformation. The Financial Services Business Development team develops opportunities across banking, insurance, asset and wealth management, and other regulated organisations through KPMG’s internal client network and the Microsoft ecosystem. Sales, industry, solution, commercial and delivery specialists work together to create integrated propositions and pursue major transformation programmes.

About the role

As Senior Business Development Manager – Financial Services, you will own demand generation and business development for Microsoft-enabled opportunities. You will originate and convert new business, build executive relationships across clients, KPMG and Microsoft, and shape commercially robust transformation propositions from early engagement through contracting and delivery. You will be accountable for pipeline governance, forecasting, deal quality and profitability, while mobilising specialists to meet commercial, legal, quality, risk and delivery requirements.

What you’ll be doing

  • Own the Financial Services go-to-market and demand generation plan, creating qualified pipeline and delivering against agreed signed-revenue and bookings targets.
  • Originate new business through KPMG and Microsoft channels, building sustained engagement across both routes to market.
  • Develop and execute market campaigns and build relationships across target clients, KPMG account teams and Microsoft stakeholders.
  • Identify and qualify opportunities across banking, insurance, wealth management, asset management and related regulated markets, with particular focus on banking and insurance.
  • Shape Microsoft-enabled propositions using Financial Services market insight, regulatory developments and client priorities, positioning Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement, Customer Service and Contact Centre around business outcomes.
  • Lead major bids and proposals, aligning client messaging, pricing, commercial models, solution input and delivery commitments.
  • Manage negotiation and contracting activity, coordinating sales, solution, industry, commercial, legal, quality, risk and delivery colleagues through required governance and approvals.
  • Own forecasting, conversion and deal profitability, then support mobilisation by maintaining the client relationship and clarity of contractual commitments.
  • Represent KPMG at client forums, industry events and Microsoft-led activities, supporting wider sales and account teams to develop Financial Services opportunities.

Skills, knowledge and experience you’ll need

Proven success originating, shaping and closing complex Microsoft technology-services opportunities, with accountability across the full deal lifecycle.

Demonstrable experience with Microsoft business applications, including Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement, Customer Service and Contact Centre; knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure, AI or business-process automation is valuable.

Financial Services business development experience and strong industry understanding, ideally across banking or insurance; experience in wealth management, asset management or related regulated markets is also relevant.

Experience developing services-led propositions and working with Microsoft, a Microsoft consultancy, a global systems integrator or a large professional-services organisation.

Demonstrated ability to influence senior client stakeholders, partners and complex internal networks without relying on direct authority.

Strong commercial capability across pipeline management, forecasting, pricing, contract negotiation, deal quality and profitability, combined with a collaborative, accountable and resilient approach.
