Job Description Summary
Role Title: Senior DevOps Engineer
Location: Hyderabad
Role Type: Hybrid
The Senior DevOps Engineer will maintain, modernise and continuously improve the DevOps estate supporting the bank’s Core Banking and Digital Channels platforms. The technology landscape includes Temenos Transact, .NET-based backend services, Microsoft Dynamics 365, and native iOS and Android applications. Candidates are not expected to have experience across every platform; we are seeking strong transferable DevOps expertise, with depth in one or more comparable enterprise technology stacks and the ability to learn and support a varied estate.
The role will improve delivery traceability, engineering velocity, quality and resilience through effective CI/CD, platform automation, security, compliance and developer enablement.
Responsibilities
- Own the maintenance, availability and enhancement of the DevOps estate across Core Banking and Digital Channels, improving pipeline reliability, traceability, delivery speed and quality.
- Design and deliver secure, reusable CI/CD pipelines, build standards and deployment patterns in partnership with development teams.
- Integrate legacy DevOps processes with the bank’s strategic infrastructure and lead the controlled retirement of local tooling and unsupported platforms.
- Maintain and enhance IBM DevOps Deploy (UCD) and its operational and internal developer platform integrations.
- Develop self-service platform capabilities using Backstage, Harness and related services, including reusable templates and golden paths.
- Integrate automated code-quality, security and approved AI-assisted review agents into Maven and wider build pipelines.
- Administer HashiCorp Vault and migrate secrets from legacy platforms using least privilege, automated rotation and auditable controls.
- Lead SVN remediation, patching and vulnerability management for locally hosted tooling.
- Plan service retirements and maintain lifecycle, version and technology-currency compliance across DevOps and internal developer platform services.
- Complete access reviews and audit returns for joiner, leaver and mover controls, ensuring appropriate membership and privilege levels.
- Review changes through CAB to identify technical conflicts, capacity constraints, sequencing issues and operational risks.
- Enhance Dynatrace monitoring and self-service support, and assist with WebSphere traditional, WebSphere Liberty, Linux, virtual machines, networking, SAN storage and F5 dependencies.
- Plan and support disaster-recovery testing, including F5 failover and connectivity validation, with clear remediation actions.
- Lead technical working sessions, troubleshoot complex platform issues, maintain standards and runbooks, and onboard and mentor engineers.
