Today, Lonza is a global leader in life sciences operating across three continents. While we work in science, there’s no magic formula to how we do it. Our greatest scientific solution is talented people working together, devising ideas that help businesses to help people. In exchange, we let our people own their careers. Their ideas, big and small, genuinely improve the world. And that’s the kind of work we want to be part of.

We are looking for a Head of Project Management Office (PMO) and Risk Management to drive strategic project execution and strengthen risk management across our global INB Operations network.

In this role, you will lead the network PMO function, translate business priorities into an impactful project portfolio, and ensure initiatives deliver measurable value. Working closely with the Head of Planning and Execution, Site PMO Leads, and global project managers, you will establish consistent project management practices, develop capabilities across the network, and embed effective operational risk management.

What you’ll do

Shape and prioritize the project portfolio: Translate business needs and corporate priorities into actionable initiatives, evaluate proposals based on business value and return on investment, and support the strategic planning process.

Drive strategic alignment and value delivery: Ensure projects contribute to organizational objectives and track benefits after completion to confirm sustained financial and operational results.

Establish project management standards: Develop and implement frameworks, methodologies, and tools aligned with organizational strategy and the Global Group. Promote standardization, continuous improvement, and best practice sharing.

Lead operational risk management: Establish and maintain risk management policies and procedures, coordinate regular risk assessments and audits, and recommend mitigation actions to senior management. Ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and internal standards.

Strengthen performance reporting: Manage the business reporting process, using project performance data, operational metrics, and risk insights to support informed decisions. Provide an escalation forum for network project managers and help resolve project challenges.

Develop PMO capabilities across the network: Support project planning, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation. Deliver project management training and coach Site PMO Leads in developing and implementing their local PMO roadmaps.

Build strong PMO teams: Support the recruitment and onboarding of Site PMO colleagues and foster effective collaboration across sites and global functions. Supporting teams accross 3 different continents and up to 8 sites.
