As a Full Stack Software Engineer, you’ll help shape and build the Data Control Plane from the ground up. You’ll work across the product, from the experiences people interact with to the services and cloud infrastructure behind them. Using React and TypeScript, Python and AWS, you’ll build capabilities that make complex data easier to discover, understand and use.
On the frontend, you’ll create intuitive experiences for exploring and interacting with data. You’ll develop features including catalogue browsing, search, data-rich grids, visualisations and workflow-driven functionality, working with reusable components, design systems and complex application state. As the product grows, you’ll also tackle the performance and usability challenges that come with increasingly rich applications and larger volumes of data.
Beyond the frontend, you’ll design, build and operate the APIs and backend services that power these experiences. Working with Python and frameworks such as FastAPI, you’ll develop secure, high-performing services using SQL and relational data models. You’ll work across areas such as asynchronous processing, validation, pagination, caching, versioning and error handling to create APIs that can evolve reliably as the platform grows.
Security and access will be built into the platform from the outset. You’ll integrate with identity and access-management services, developing authentication and role-based authorisation that allow people and applications to access data appropriately and securely.
You’ll have the opportunity to work across the engineering lifecycle, taking new capabilities from design and development through to deployment and production. Using CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code and observability practices, you’ll help ensure the platform can be released reliably, operated effectively and continually improved as it grows on AWS.
Because this is a greenfield build, you’ll have the opportunity to influence how the product develops as well as what we build. You’ll contribute to architectural decisions, technical direction and the engineering standards that will support the platform as it grows, applying strong software engineering principles across testing, security, scalability, resilience and maintainability. You’ll also develop AI-enabled capabilities that create new ways for people to discover and understand data.
This could include natural-language catalogue search, metadata enrichment and intelligent assistant-style features. You’ll integrate managed large language model services and apply appropriate evaluation, safeguards and responsible AI practices to make these capabilities useful, reliable and secure.
