Description
R_371021 Strategy Leader – Sales, Growth and Execution
Bring your energy, curiosity and commercial mindset to the heart of the Marsh Risk UK Growth Agenda.
We are looking for a talented individual to join the Marsh Risk UK Growth team in London This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
This is a high-impact role for someone who combines strategic thinking and action. You will work closely with the UK Sales Leader and leaders across the business to identify opportunities, solve problems, motivate teams and accelerate progression against our most important growth priorities.
You will be at the centre of the UK growth agenda - connecting strategy, data, people and execution. One day you might be helping shape a major growth initiative; the next, scrutinising where we are winning and losing, challenging how we deploy our sales capacity, or bringing leaders together to turn an idea into measurable commercial impact.
You do not need to be an insurance expert. You do need to be commercially creative, analytically strong and passionate about growth.
We will count on you to
- Partner with the UK Sales Leader and business leaders to shape and deliver the UK growth strategy.
- Turn strategic priorities into clear actions, ownership and measurable outcomes.
- Identify opportunities to accelerate new business, retention, cross-sell and client growth.
- Use data and insight to understand performance, challenge assumptions and focus the organisation on the opportunities that matter most.
- Lead high-impact growth initiatives across businesses and functions, bringing the right people together and maintaining momentum.
- Help build a world-class approach to sales analytics, performance management and decision-making.
- Create compelling, insight-led materials that simplify complex issues and enable better decisions.
- Bring outside-in thinking, fresh ideas and constructive challenge to how we grow.
- Connect Marsh UK through growth initiatives, helping leaders align around priorities and remove barriers.
- Build relationships and influence at every level of Marsh, creating enthusiasm and momentum around our growth ambition.
- Engage teams and operate effectively when the answer is not immediately obvious.
What you bring
- Energy and problem solving — you are naturally drawn to opportunities, ask great questions and bring momentum to the people around you.
- Strong strategic and analytical capability — able to get quickly to the heart of complex problems, connect the dots and turn insight into clear choices and action.
- A bias for action and execution — comfortable moving from idea to implementation and driving multiple priorities through to measurable outcomes.
- The ability to influence and mobilise others — building credibility with senior leaders and working across teams to create alignment and get things done.
- Strong commercial judgement — an instinct for what will create value, combined with the confidence to challenge thinking and bring a different perspective.
- Experience in a high-performing environment — this could include strategy, consulting, commercial leadership, transformation or another role where you have demonstrated the ability to think, influence and perform.
What you need to have
- Consulting background (strategy consulting, management consulting, or high-performing internal strategy role)
- Proven ability to operate as strategic partner to C-suite executives with your presence and decision-making authority
- Proven track record in strategic planning, business analytics, and delivery
- Exceptional strategic thinking with ability to see patterns and opportunities others miss
- Executive presence and gravitas—able to represent UK Sales Leader perspective in senior forums and operate with delegated authority
- What makes you stand out?
- Experience building analytics capabilities and translating data into business impact
- Strong commercial acumen with understanding of B2B sales and growth drivers
- Demonstrated success leading complex, cross-functional strategic initiatives
- Experience in insurance, financial services, or professional services
