Description of Work
The primary purpose of this position is to oversee the Department of Adult Correction’s payroll and benefits processes, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and compliance with State and Federal laws, GAAP, and Office of the State Controller requirements.
Key responsibilities include
- ~ Analyzing, identifying, communicating and resolving salary overpayment issues by working to collect funds owed to the State.
- ~Maintaining records on an ongoing basis to tract the balance of all salary overpayments processed after each payroll cycle.
- ~Ensuring accurate processing of payroll transactions, deductions, benefits, and withholdings.
- ~ Coordinating with employees, management, state agencies, and vendors to resolve payroll and benefits issues.
- ~ Protecting confidential data and supporting financial accountability within the Controller’s Office.
