About Liquor & Gaming NSW
We are at the pointy end of industry supervision for the liquor, gaming, wagering, casino and registered club sectors in NSW. If you want a seat at the table, whether we’re reviewing the latest facial recognition technology; advising Government on gambling reform policy; developing initiatives to increase live music venues and festivals; or investigating unlawful liquor or gambling inducement practices, we want to talk to you.
We’re enabling vibrant and dynamic hospitality and racing environments that are safe and responsible, and our regulatory efforts are evidenced-informed, coordinated, and targeted to where the risks are greatest.
Our work is as diverse as our people and the NSW communities we serve. See what it’s like to work with us!
About the Role
As a Senior Casino Inspector, you'll play a critical role in maintaining the integrity and compliance of casino operations across NSW. Working within a dynamic regulatory environment, you'll undertake targeted, risk-based inspections and compliance activities, both on-site and through detailed desktop reviews, to ensure legislative and regulatory obligations are met.
This is a diverse and hands-on role where no two days are the same. You'll engage directly with casino operators and stakeholders, conduct enquiries and investigations, assess compliance risks, gather evidence, and prepare reports that support informed regulatory decision-making. You'll also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, helping to strengthen regulatory practices and outcomes.
The role offers a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of casino regulation, protecting the community while supporting a fair, transparent and accountable industry. Regular weekend and after-hours deployments form part of this role, reflecting the operational nature of casino oversight.
In addition to gaining hands-on regulatory operations experience, you will undertake comprehensive on-the-job training and have the opportunity to attain nationally recognised qualifications, including a Certificate IV in Government (Investigation/Regulatory Compliance). The role also offers competitive compensation for rostered after-hours and weekend work, recognising the important contribution inspectors make in safeguarding compliance
About You

Strong analytical skills and the ability to assess information, identify risks and make evidence-based recommendations.
Experience conducting inspections, reviews, audits or other compliance activities in accordance with legislation, policies or regulatory frameworks.

Strong written communication skills, including the preparation of reports, correspondence and recommendations.

A commitment to public sector values and contributing to a fair, transparent and accountable regulatory system.
Why Join Us?
This is an opportunity to build a rewarding career in a unique regulatory environment that directly contributes to public confidence and industry integrity. You'll receive comprehensive training, ongoing professional development, exposure to complex compliance matters, and the opportunity to work alongside experienced regulatory professionals in a collaborative and supportive team.
