Intern (Electrical Engineering)

• BHE GT&S has an exciting summer internship opportunity for a rising Sophomore, Junior or Senior majoring in Electrical Engineering student at our Cove Point LNG facility located in Lusby, MD.
• We are seeking highly motivated Electrical Engineering or Computer Science students to work within our Automation and Controls Department
• Investigate and solve equipment issues.
• Design, develop and program software for real time programmable logic controllers (PLC) and distributed process control systems (DCS).
• Write or review operating procedures, as applicable.
• Write and review process documentation.
• Perform equipment or material inspections and quality controls.
• Perform cost analysis, as applicable.
• Individuals must have a desire to learn and produce as part of a safety conscious workplace. An independent source of transportation for this summer 2027 internship is needed as there are limited public transportation options in the area.
• Our summer internship program begins June 7 and includes a minimum of 8 weeks working on site. Earlier start dates and/or extended end dates may be available based on your summer schedule and business needs.
• *Successful candidates who are 50 miles or more from the assigned work location may be eligible for a one-time housing stipend.
• Must be a rising sophomore or junior as of summer of 2027.
• Currently enrolled in a 4 year ABET accredited Electrical Engineering Bachelor's degree program or a Computer Science degree program.
• Must have a 2.5 GPA or higher (3.0 preference).
• Excellent computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to create and work with Word/Excel spreadsheet and reports.
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment or independently.
• Good planning and organizing skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to articulate technical subject matter both verbally and written.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations.
• Good communications and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated and have a strong work ethic.
• Must currently hold a valid driver's license.
• Contribute to a team-centric work environment based on mutual respect and integrity.

Education

• Must be a full-time student attending a 4-year university majoring in Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Industrial Design or Engineering,
• Student must be a rising sophomore, junior or rising senior prior to summer of 2027.
• Student must have a GPA of 2.5 (3.0 preferred).
