Summary
We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Business Analyst (Defense & Medical Devices) to bridge the gap between business operations, manufacturing engineering, and IT systems. In this role, you will analyze, map, and optimize core business and manufacturing processes to drive operational efficiency, ensure product quality, and maintain strict compliance in high-precision, heavily regulated environments (FDA / ISO 13485 for Medical Devices and ITAR / DFARS / CMMC NIST 800-171 for Defense). The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in process engineering, ERP/MES workflow optimization, cross-functional stakeholder facilitation, and complex regulatory compliance.
What You'll Do
Process Mapping & Optimization
- ●Lead Value Stream Mapping (VSM) and process optimization initiatives across shop floor execution, supply chain management, quality assurance, and engineering change management.
- ●Document current-state ("As-Is") and design scalable future-state ("To-Be") manufacturing workflows using standard notations (BPMN, SIPOC).
- ●Identify process bottlenecks, non-value-added activities, and operational risks; propose data-driven solutions to lower cycle times and reduce scrap/rework.
- ●Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure process efficacy and business transformation performance.
Systems Analysis & ERP/MES Implementation
- ●Gather, analyze, and translate business and manufacturing requirements into detailed functional specifications and user stories for technical teams.
- ●Partner with IT and Operations to optimize Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) integrations.
- ●Drive end-to-end integration of shop-floor data collection, trace-and-track systems, and Electronic Batch Records (eBR) / Device History Records (DHR).
Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance
- ●Ensure all business processes and system workflows strictly comply with FDA 21 CFR Part 820 / ISO 13485 (Medical Devices) and ITAR / EAR / AS9100 / CMMC (Defense).
- ●Author, review, and maintain System Requirement Specifications (SRS), Validation Master Plans (VMP), and Software Validation documentation (IQ/OQ/PQ) under 21 CFR Part 11.
- ●Facilitate root cause analysis (RCA) and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) by mapping affected business and operational workflows.
Cross-Functional Leadership & Change Management
- ●Act as the primary liaison between Manufacturing Engineers, Quality Assurance, IT, Supply Chain, and Executive Leadership.
- ●Develop change management plans, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and training documentation to ensure seamless adoption of revised business processes.
- ●Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and process validation workshops with end-users prior to system deployments.
What You'll Bring
- ●Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Information Systems, Supply Chain, or a related technical discipline.
- ●4+ years of Business Analysis experience within discrete manufacturing, specifically in Defense/Aerospace and/or Medical Device industries.
- ●Hands-on experience mapping manufacturing processes (Shop Floor Control, Inventory, Quality Management, BOM/ECO Management).
- ●Deep working knowledge of dual-industry regulatory standards (Medical: FDA 21 CFR Part 820/11, ISO 13485; Defense: AS9100, ITAR, DFARS; General Quality: ISO 9001).
- ●Direct experience with Tier-1 ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Epicor, Infor) and MES/PLM platforms (e.g., Arena, Windchill, Camstar, Plex).
- ●Proficiency with process modeling tools (Lucidchart, Visio, ARIS) and Agile/Scrum project management software (Jira, Azure DevOps).
- ●Proficiency in English (both written and spoken).
How to Stand Out
●Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or PMI-PBA certification.
●Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt (LSSGB / LSSBB).
●APICS / ASCM certification (CPIM or CSCP).
