What you’ll do

Conduct risk-based IT control reviews and assurance activities across data and platform environments, identifying control gaps, reducing risk exposure, and ensuring compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.

Assess high-risk areas, clearly documenting and communicating findings, risks, and instances of non-compliance, while partnering with stakeholders to develop, implement, and track effective remediation plans.

Provide expert assurance guidance to data, project, and operational teams on the design, implementation, and effectiveness of controls, helping the business proactively manage key data risks and maintain strong governance practices.

Build strong relationships with internal and external auditors, supporting audit engagements by coordinating responses, addressing queries, providing high-quality evidence, and driving agreed actions through to successful completion.

Partner with cross-functional teams to strengthen data and platform assurance practices, promote a culture of compliance, and continuously improve the organisation's approach to risk management and control effectiveness.

Execute ongoing control monitoring activities, including weekly control reviews and the quarterly Control Risk Self-Assessment (CRSA) sign-off process, escalating issues where required and ensuring timely resolution.

Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation of assurance activities, risk assessments, review outcomes, compliance measures, and control evidence to support governance, audit, and regulatory requirements.

Perform peer reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of assurance methodologies, processes, and best practices across the data and platform assurance function.

What you’ll bring

Demonstrable experience in IT audit, assurance, and the design and testing of IT controls, with a strong understanding of governance frameworks and regulatory requirements, including the Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Act and Senior Accounting Officer (SAO) regime. ACA, CISA, or an equivalent controls-focused qualification is highly desirable.

Proven ability to identify risks and develop effective control frameworks and mitigation strategies within complex organisational environments, helping to strengthen compliance, governance, and operational resilience.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, judgement, influencing, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to distil complex technical issues into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.

Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders to improve assurance practices, drive control enhancements, and embed effective risk management across the organisation.

Meticulous and highly organised, with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, adapt to changing business needs, meet deadlines, and remain effective under pressure.

A proactive and continuous-imvement mindset, with a keen interest in emerging data assurance best practices, regulatory developments, and industry trends, alongside the ability to monitor improvements, track issues, and feed insights into future assurance activities.
